Played at someone’s house for London & SE League. This is AMAZING fun - much more fun than Heist, for example, on the same machine.

It is the simplest idea possible. Asteroids float around the bottom half of the playfield. You have to shoot the (physical) blocks at the top of the playfield with the flippers/pinball to destroy the asteroids before they can damage/destroy your shield. You proceed through a series of progressively harder levels like a physical version of blockbuster combined with asteroid - simple to learn, hard to master.

In my view, almost enough to sell the P3 system to be honest!

This is an add on for other modules. It’s pretty simple really. The ball is served to the main playfield and the P3 uses the ball position sensing to tell if the ball is destroying asteroids which float in from the sides. There are also flying saucers to shoot. The new version has music by Scott Danesi and it really, well, rocks. It’s not a stand alone reason to get a P3 but having it is a great value. It works with all the modules meaning you don’t have to hassle with a 5 minute module change to play a fun and very different game. Totally worth it.

This is another mini game on the P3. Remember Asteroids at the arcades (or on the Atari 2600)? This is that game only better graphics and you hit the asteroids with a pinball to destroy them. The popup walls work really well to restrict the playable area to just the LCD and individual walls will drop revealing scoops which you shoot to progress to the next level. Spaceships randomly appear at the top of the screen and can be hit which can provide "powerups" such as an increase to your shield (for your flippers), extra ball etc.

The lighting is excellent - the P3 allows you to adjust the colour of the lighting to anything you like for the Backbox Translite, P3 logo and playfield so I've gone for a dark blue which works well with the space theme.

When your shield runs out and your flippers are hit by an asteroid they will sustain damage (100% down to 0%) - the really cool part about this is that the flippers actually get weaker so after a few hits your left flipper might be at 20% and your right flipper still around 70% - when you hit with the left flipper it's so weak it will only just bounce over to your right flipper where you can then hit it fairly hard to destroy asteroids, hit a scoop etc. And when it's 0, all you can do is watch the ball roll down the flipper and drain and there's nothing you can do about it.

Very fun and one of those games that you can tend to have "just one more go". Better than that it doesn't matter what playfield is in your P3 it will still be available to play so you can switch and play it whenever you like and without having to even remove the glass.
