Noteworthy features

  • Has 2 extra flippers at the bottom to prevent drains and make loop shots.

Trivia

  • Following the massive success of Q*Bert, the videogame (1982), a number of spin-off ventures were launched, using the same character. None of them were successful, including the Gottlieb pinball, which saw very low production and limited profitability.
  • David Thiel, sound designer for the Q*Bert videogame and the Q*Bert's Quest pinball machine, created the voice of Q*Bert. He did this by programming random numbers into the game that the Votrax SC-01 speech chip then had to pronounce.
