I felt like leaving credits in this machine and moving on to the next machine.

Just purchased this game and I am excited to have it in my collection for quite some time. Play field has some of the best toys on it in my opinion and while I haven't played it a ton it didn't take but about 10 plays for me to know I would be glad to own one. Overall great game with no weaknesses.
**Updated** - Had to move on from it, still enjoy the game a ton but it's lasting effect wears off as shots can be very repetitive.

I recently discovered the fn of this pin. I am am fan of the films and enjoyed the amny references withing the game like Liars Dice and other fun game modes. The ship toy is really cool and since you can actually sink it mae the game very fun.

One of the first games that got me reinterested in pinball. I've always had a ongoing flirtation with pinball (thanks to my dad the pinball wizard) growing up; but never really got to play pinball with much frequency. Then one day this POTC pops up in my local Chuck E Cheese. The fact it's only one token to play combined with the newness (see working) of the machine; I was able to put in a decent amount of time on the machine and for that I'm indebted to it. Other than that, I pretty much agree with all that's been said previously.

A very solid Stern that really doesnt start to get going until you get deeper into the game. Stacking Heart Multiball with Davey Jones Battle & even Time Lock is a great way to score some big jackpots. Its definitly a shooters Stop & go game but in the right collection definetly has a lot of replay value.

Very exciting, invites you to play to break down the sails and succumb to hear that voice .... pity about the design is unimaginative and the music. Improved.

A beautiful machine, great playfield art, cabinet art, and nice backglass. The shots are interesting and the toys are well done. Pirates is not lacking for things to shoot at and do. The goals are fun, and the center compass area to keep track of them is nicely done.

But Pirates starts to go downhill from there. The shots seem poorly integrated. Shoot the ship, ball dribbles out. Shoot the chest, ball dribbles out. The left orbit shot gets captured and shot to the upper lane/Parlay area. This all interrupts an overall fast and challenging game. I'm not particularly hung up on flow vs. stop and go. I like both, but Pirates doesn't seem to do either well.

The music is nothing special. I can't get excited about it and it doesn't draw you in. The sounds and voice calls are pretty boring and not very funny.

One last comment about the art, the artwork on the plastics has to be some of the worst I've seen. Overall, Pirates is beautiful. But then you have plastics with boring, grainy pictures of ships, or a pixelated grey-blue sea of nothing.

Not my favorite Stern, but overall a pretty fun game. The lack of Depps voice work is annoying, but the sound package is engaging. WHile I do not have a ton of plays on this machine, it is pretty enjoyable, but like most Stern games, is designed to gobble quarters, so some of the drains feel cheap to me. The sinking ship and rotating disc are fun toys and I really like the starting ramp that comes into play when you plunge the ball.

I think this can be called a successful new STERN game. It plays well, it is fun. It has deep rules and satisfying shots. One of the better STERN games.

This is a game that is ideal for a home environment. It has quite a few rules, lots of ways to get multiball. Not overly complex to understand, you will get the hang of it after 2 or 3 games. I found this to be a great game to play with another person. Games last an average length of time... but a good player can have quite long games.

I like the artwork and theme very much. Your pretty safe with this game and it is not likely to drop much more in price. I suspect it has hit a plateau.

I play POTC on location once in a while. It's a stop and go game with not much flow. The only shot that directly brings the ball back to the flippers is the jack the monkey ramp. The rule set is fairly deep and the modes are difficult to complete, combined with the narrow shots gives the game good re-play value. The art package is great - especially the playfield. The sounds & music complements the pirates theme. The plastic protector around the ship looks cheap as does some of the other plastic on the playfield. Overall this is a really good player and with some mods it looks really nice in the home environment.

A huge favorite with anyone that plays it. Great rules and callouts.... some crack me up every time.

POTC is a very fun game. The modes are challenging and the theming is superb. Music goes along well with the game - for example, at the start of the game, "yo-ho yo-ho a pirate's life for me" starts playing.

It can be tough to understand all the mods and the ruleset. Also, I think that the bit piece of plexiglass in front of the ship is tacky - Stern could have designed something else here: a sturdier ship perhaps?

Played for an hour straight the first time I saw it and didn't get bored. Fun machine.

The ship takes up too much space on the playfield.

Just couldn't get into this one. It's a stop and go shooter with no flow. The ship, the main toy, is akin to the castle in MM, but doesn't have the same kind of satisfaction when destroying it. The game certainly looks attractive, but didn't have anything to hold my interest.

**Update** Played a bit more and again, like my experience with LOTR, this takes time to appreciate. It's something different from most pins, which makes it fun it play.

Definetely a shooters game, but the stop and go in this one doesn't bother me at all, and that can be something of a dealbreaker for me. Shots are tight and a missed shot (often) sends the ball bouncing around the lower playfield but I feel that the outlanes are appropriately set so as to not be brutally malicious. Good design there. Hate if you want to, but this one is solid.

Fun pin, beautiful, with a crowded playfield (which I am partial to), and a lot to get you interested. It's one of those pins that begs you to give it a try...and you are well rewarded. After a while the ship becomes the main focus...and likely the main reason one might soon tire of this pin all too soon.

Like the look of the back glass and the pirate theme but too much plastic on the playfield, i.e. ramps. Oh, to go back to metal! Everything was ok but it did not hook me or have that 'one more go' quality.

Owned this for awhile and it was fun, but I sold it to get Twilight Zone and there is no regret.
The sterns just can't compete in my opinion.....................ZOD

A great looking game. Theme is timeless and will fit nicely in a home game room. The playfield design is stop-and-go and requires skilled shots to fully experience the games rule set. The audio and music is also very well done. I've had no issues with the ship 'breaking' and I have the guards removed. Perhaps it's more of an issue for routed games as opposed to home use.

Fun to sink the ship but not much else I loved, not a bad game but I wouldnt want to buy it.

I come back to this game a lot. It's in a movie theater. There are a lot of individual shots, like Time Lock, the Treasure Chest, shooting the ship, Liars Dice. My biggest problem with it is the stop-and-go nature. It's sort of a go ahead and wait game because after a lot of shots, you have to wait for what seems a little too long. Also, the pop bumpers are kind of stuffed in the upper right corner. If you miss a shot, be prepared to have the ball ricochet on the lower playfield. Not a lot of flow.
