Best pin ever made IMHO. Many the top pins are very similar in layout, gameplay, and rules but in terms of theme and artwork I like MB more than AFM or MM.

As as others have said the only thing negative that can be said about MB is the rules aren't as deep as modern Stern's.

I've never met anyone yet who doesn't like MB - ok so for the most skilled players it may be relatively easy, but i'm not one of them, and i like a game where i can have a decent chance of some multiball action, lots of humour and playfield toys, great music and light shows, but most of all fun. the games that are too hard are just no fun.

anyone can get Monster Bash miniwizard mode, but Monsters of Rock is a little more challenging. the DMD animations on this game are second to none. the playfield is chock full of fun stuff like a rising Franky and a moving Dracula and a TAF-like autoflipper. i loved this game so much that i found an even better example of it for even more money, and am letting my first one go. seriously, this is a top ten game in anyone's book, and probably a top 5 in mine

Hasn't quite got the depth or challenge I look for in a pinball. I need to play it more to make a full assessment.

UPDATE: OK, it is maybe a little too easy, but it is an elegant design, great artwork and humour, and it keeps me coming back for more. It is rightfully in the top 10 on Pinside.

To me, the classic underachiever in all of pinball. What a great game this could have been with the awesome art, layout, theme, great sounds and call outs, etc. Instead, the rules leave so much to be desired that the game is vary one dimensional. Other than point value, monsters of rock and monster bash wizard modes are identical. So lame.

I love the call outs and the humor in the game. The artwork and color palette are great, but the game has little rules depth and the "modes" for each monster are simply hitting more of the same shot. Great multiball start animation though!

A but simple to understand, but hard to complete. It is funny. The sound and animations bring this together into just s fun package.

IMO this blows MM out of the water. Incredibly fun machine with a great fun and funny classic horror theme -- and talk about a theme... ALL of the Universal Monsters in a single tounge-in-cheek package. You would never be able to pull this off today. And its just a blast to play with terrific flow, fun shots, interesting callouts and cool as heck toys and modes. This should be #1. It doesn't get better than this, even though it is lacking one of the features that I feel any good pin SHOULD have--- a proper plunger.

Pretty fun game. Especially if you grew up watching old horror flicks. Great artwork, nice ruleset, challenging shots. Everything you could want in a pinball machine. Very pricey since everyone wants one.

This game is lots of fun! Definitely one of my all time favorites. I would drive out of my way just to be able to jam out on it. They whole theme and concept of the table design is phenomenal. Everything from the monsters to the music makes this a hit! I am a big fan of all George Gomez games. This is on of the best!

Easily one of my favorites. Love the theme and the set up. I tend to gravitate toward pins that incorporate multiple characters as objectives (Spiderman, IronMan, etc). The only issue i find with this is the price to purchase these days. Would love to see a remake in the coming years.

At first I was skeptical. After a few games I began to appreciate the theme. The call outs and sound was quite entertaining. The playfield monster extras really added a lot to the game.

Fun Game it is easy to want to keep coming back. I hope it is remade to make it more available to play in the future. Most people grew up with the characters which makes it easy relate too. nice flow, great creativity

What a great pin, so much fun; great broad appeal.

Excellent flow and an awesome original theme...Wish it came down in price, because I would love to own one.

Overall a fun game with plenty of special effects. Ball is easy to follow. Plenty of gadgets on the PF. Game flow is OK but not great.

I will repeat this in many of my ratings but I'm an old school EM guy and the complexity of the rule set in newer machines makes or breaks it for me. I played it at the Seattle Pin museum and I enjoyed it from the first play and it kept me coming back and playing over and over but I'm not sure that it really has enough variations for me at home. The prices are a bit high and for that reason I'm not sure I would own it.

Best Bally/Williams DMD game IMO. They went ALL OUT on this one and it shows. Great for beginners or pro's with easy to understand rules, but complexities to really up your scoring potential. The only negative to game play is that Phantom Flip is no good - so just turn it off LOL.

It's alive !!

I owned a fully restored modded and blinged one of these, chrome everything. Boy they are a beautiful machine to look at, a real piece of art. The cabinet, the playfield, the back glass all probably some of the best of the era. With led's, and a few tasteful playfield mods this pin captures its theme better than any other.

The dots on this one are great - especially with the colour DMD, and the interactive toys on this one as a collective have to be a benchmark, and make most of today's pins look barren. There is a variety of good shots that flow seamlessly into one another. The game also has a sense of humour - the cheesy call outs are hilarious, and it makes you feel like this game has a soul.

However...this one came and went out of my collection quickly. Quicker than any other.

Now I may get hammered for this, but it never came together for me. I loved the look, I loved the sound, but I didn't love the way it played (most important aspect for me) I never had that one more game feeling, it never gave me the adrenaline rush of some other pins, I never once felt glad for having it in my collection.

Now this was one of my grail pins that I thought that once acquired would never leave, but it's gone and I don't miss it.
Sometimes it's one thing to play a game like this on location, but it's another to have it for home use. All I can say is that if you are thinking of buying one, log some serious time on it first before your purchase - because it will be a big purchase !

But hey that's just like......my opinion man - and ultimately "she" may be the one for you !!

When I first heard about this i kept thinking I bet all it does is play the Monster Bash song. Well, it doesn't and this one has so much going on in the right ways. This is a fantastic pin with a lot of variety.

Edit:
The game just looks great and I love all of the toys. I love how they integrated the theme as well. This game is just a lot of fun.

This is an all around likable good game. Can't really go wrong. But I don't think it is a top 10 of all time game. It is so-so. I think I'd get bored if I owned one. Good layout, just a little boring/lame in my opinion.

My latest addition and I love it. Some may say it is too easy, but for me it is fine and packs huge fun into playing. Honestly I cannot find fault with it at the moment. Perhaps I will change the rating in the future but for now 10.00 !!!
