Trivia

  • Maverick can be considered the last game designed by Data East Pinball and the first game produced by Sega Pinball. (Similarly, the also western-themed Stampede/Rawhide were the last two pins produced by Chicago Coin and the first two produced by Stern Electronics under Sam Stern, father of Data East/Sega/Stern Pinball president Gary Stern.)
  • Maverick was put on test as a widebody with a standard 128x32 DMD, but went into production as a standard body with an oversized 192x64 DMD. The widebody was destroyed and only a single prototype playfield is known to exist.
  • Maverick has the Data East initials logo on the shooter rod, but the Sega logo on the display.
