Very deep rules and well thought out. This isn't the most played game in my collection as most newbies prefer POTC sitting right next to it. This machine does have great flow and the multi-balls are awesome. Defeating the ring will make the hair stand up on your neck!!! the machine just goes crazy ;) Lots to do on this game and it always stays interesting.

I had it for a few years. Great rules and fun WHEN I played it, I just didn't play it much. Adaptation of the theme to a pin was fantastic! Shaker is a MUST in this game!!!

Update: ratings updated as this wonderful table enters my collection a second time. As a more skilled player, I can appreciate this game even more.

Deep rule set...Love this game! Unfortunately, the lastability of this game was not there...kept only 3 months and just couldn't get into the theme.

This was my first NIB experience. One of the better Sterns. Glad I purchased one when I did as I think this has the potential to be one of the higher dollar pins in the future.

I know most love this game, but I actually loathe it, I struggled to give it a fair rating, but I really can't rate it any higher than I have. I could go into detail about what annoys me about this game, but suffice it to say, when the sound grates on me, the shots bore me, and gameplay simply leaves me cold, there really isn't much else to say.

Awesome game. The only drawback is a serious game takes some time. This isn't necessarily a drawback for everyone, if you have a few games to balance it's a great addition to almost any collection.

LOTR keeps you coming back for more. Very challenging with deep rules sets and some of the best animations/sounds of any pinball machine.

Boring Stern pin. Blow budget on licensing, slap pin around licensing, repeat...

I just cannot get into this game for whatever reason. Very deep ruleset is a huge plus, but overall the feel of the game just doesn't sit right.

Looks great, cool theme, plays decent. While I liked it, this pin didn't stay in the collection for a long time. Not sure it's a Top 5 machine though.

I bought my LOTR NIB in 2003. There have been several times I got tired of it and thought about selling it, but if I step away from it for a few months I'm always glad I kept it. I've been told by friends that visit a lot that I am NOT to sell LOTR :-) There's a reason this game has held its value: it's well-executed, has great sound and speech, and flows really well. If I could only have on Gomez game, it would have to be either RFM or LOTR. I couldn't make that choice, so I have both.

I really love this game. I have long been a huge Lord of the Rings fan, the books and then the movies, and the pinball is great too! The theme is well incorporated, so if you loved the movies (it is based on the movies not the books), you should love the game.

This game does tend to have pretty long ball times, so be prepared for that. Otherwise the only complaint I have is the kind of crappy looking tower in the corner and the Path of the Dead which is just completely lame. It really is just a total waste. Other than that, though, the game is a blast to play. I would love to have one in my collection someday.

THE LORD of the RINGS is an epic pinball machine!!! The Limited Edition with the Shaker motor and 2X the clear coat plays even smoother. If you can get a long game going There is so many modes, shots, music ,voice overs, and excellent fun play to be had. A must own for a pinball fan/collector!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I owned my LOTR for 8 years. That was the longest any game has ever lasted in my collection. At times, it would fade into the background, but I always came back to it. The toys and playfield were one of the finest ever created IMO. The ruleset is deep and the game is pretty difficult to beat even though ball times are almost as long as SM. You can easily have 30 minute games on this machine. For sure, a top 10 game of all time to this point.

Really for the game play I was very disapointed. I feel that the movie had such a large following so people automaticly rank it all the way up

The rules of the game are definitely one of KEF masterpieces. The original movie trilogy is a long journey and so is the game in a good way. To reach Valinor you really have to nail everything in the game, but every requirement makes sense and isn't way too hard to achieve. The ruleset also provides many ways to help your journey with all the extra ball possibilities and most importantly the resurrection of multiballs with Gollum MB.

Must be played with strong enough flippers. LOTR with weak flippers makes the game practically unplayable, because not making the ring shot all the way through it takes out all the fun and possibility to reach many of the goals. Original crappy Stern flipper leaf switches don't help the situation at all.

Quite possibly the deepest game ever. Some people complain about the long ball times. Those people are dumb. Complaining about long ball times is like complaining about gratuitous nudity in an 80's movie. This game is just plain FUN, and isn't that what it's all about? Awesome modes, fantastic multiballs, a bash toy, an upper playfield (of sorts), a magnet, great voice work, cool artwork, and a "plot" to the game that feels like you're Elija "The Good Son and Back to Future Part 2 kid" Wood. Plain and simple: one of my very favorites.

Great game with long ball times and deep rules. Love the Ring shot. Destroying the Ring mode is freakin awesome.

LOTR is awesome. only thing to hold against it is that it's a stern and suffers from looking a bit cheap. But I don't REALLY hold it against it. Gameplay more than lacks up for it. Very solid game.
