A fun classic game and the first flipper pin ever made. This game has a surprisingly strong "one more game" draw!

this was the first game with flippers I had a friend that had this game in the late 1980s in his basement with many other early pinballs. the so called flippers were more like diverters

Arguably the most important pinball game ever made. Also, quite the looker. It caused a revolution when it came out.

Play HD with your 1940's glasses on and you will have a blast. Sadly, lots of people don't seem to own such glasses. Shame on them. Got to respect where you're coming from.

What a tough game to rate - you must keep in mind that at the time this game absolutely revolutionized the industry. No other innovation in pinball made such a huge sea change, with the arguable exception of electronics.

The art is so cute and colorful. Not Roy Parker's best - in particular I'm comparing the playfield to the one on Cinderella just a few months later - but very good. I love the backglass animation (but don't we feel a little sorry for Humpty Dumpty?) Wonderful how the bells feel integrated with the animation.

In 2020 this game isn't going to knock anyone's socks off - but 2020 isn't 1947! This is fun and I hope every pinsider gets a chance to play early flipper games like this. The kickout hole bonus is great - how did it take so long (1963 with Gigi) to have an end-of-game bonus?

It's wonderful and I'm glad that, for a game of this vintage, many are still around.

*Wife approval* "Wow! How fun!" She's hooked. Love it.

*edit* I always wind up editing these things at least once for some reason. Anyway, let's be fair and rate this from a 2020 standpoint and give it a 6/10. Some people would think that's still high; I'd say it's still more fun than most games from any era.

My kids had a blast playing this game. I mean this is the first game with flippers and it takes bumping and nudging to make it work. For the age and year and the history this game provides I believe it over achieves.

You won't play another game like this. Hard to master and the games go really quick.

This is what started pinball as we now know it...

I was able to play this machine at the Pinball Expo Sydney in Nov 2014. Although the machine was not in great play condition it was a pleasure to play a machine which is part of pinball history. The game rules and backglass animation are stunning but the play is very 1940s with the flippers doing little more than nudge. Not a keeper for me but everyone has to have an early EM in their collection.

The game is not deep of course, but the buzz of playing the first game ever to have flippers more than makes up for the lack of depth... you're plaing a piece of history and an intique... who needs complex rules to make it thrilling!!
