Very solid pin for an older model. I previously owned one and played it to death until I decided it was time for something new. The playfield layout is very good which leads to a fast game and good flow. The different modes and two ramps are well done. My only complaint it that the music wore on me after a while and I'm a GNR fan. Probably more so "Welcome To The Jungle" which plays for the majority of the time.

Love the music and the theme for this is a win for me obviously. I enjoy the game and prolly the best DE game made.

Gotta love the options — there are many valid ways to play this game and rack up big points. I'm not a GnR fan and the constant "on a night train" vocals can grate after a while, but the gameplay and theme has really grown on me. A very fun DE pin.

Being a big fan of G'n'R, I remember playing this back in college. Pretty fun, love the acceleration feature and the ramps. It just felt like they could have done more with the theme. A good solid game, but not sure how long it would hold my ineterest.

Got a chance to play this at papa and wasn't a big fan. The gun is kinda cool, but thought the playfield wasn't that much fun in terms of cool shots. I am in the minority here, but not my favorite pin. Great theming though, artwork is fantastic along with the backglass.

The playfield layout on this machine is very well done. I also think they did a great job on the cabinet art / backglass with the rose plunger and gun. Data East really put a lot into this machine to compete with the Bally/Williams quality that was out at the time. Big problem with this machine for me is the sound quality. I am a huge GNR fan, but a band pin needs good sound and this is a letdown on this machine. The dotmatrix animation is very poor and almost feels like a pre-DMD era game . Video mode has no randomness to it and is so bad I wish there was a way to disable it. This is a good effort from Data East, but these few flaws hold it from greatness.

Just got my new G&R and love it. Even have unbroken topper. Game plays great. Ramps are super satisfying, especially hitting 5-7 in a row. Love the modes, plungers are awesome. If any con it's that Welcome to the Jungle gets repetitive, as previously noted.

May have to keep this one a while!

Possibly my biggest disappointment in a game that I sought out to own because I really thought I would like it. Once I got it and fixed it up, it sat in a corner until I finally moved it on, never got played!! It's not that it is really bad, just didn't have that replay appeal, and I just couldn't accept the artwork on the playfield, we're talking WPT BG bad here!!

CURRENTLY OWNING ONE, IM TRYING TO GIVE AN UNBIASSED REVIEW. HAVING SAID THAT ITS A CHALLENGING GAME, HARD TO SCORE WELL ON. GAME LAYOUT IS GOOD, MUSIC IS EXCELLENT, AND ARTWORK IS VERY GOOD AS WELL. I DONT FEEL THAT IN A LINE UP W/ SOME OTHER GAMES THIS WOULD BE MY FIRST CHOICE. FOR THE YEAR MADE THOUGH, AN OUTSTANDING GAME.

super fun game. keep coming back to play- like an old friend, dosen't get old. Im a GnR fan, so it makes it even more fun. Get all band members on stage to unlock a great 6 multiball. Snake pit left plunger awesome. Bigger and better speakers would be the only wishlist. Some times ball can get stuck in weird spots, but nothing a tilt cant fix.

Had a great game on it, although I am not a big fan of GnR music. One of the best designed DE machines, I guess!

Great music themed pinball. "Ain't Going Down" is a song recorded by Gun's N' Roses only for this pin! Also, Slash was on the design team as he is an avid pinball player.
Great use of magnets during multiball probably Borg's best designed game besides Tron.
Top two best Data East Game...

Many years ago , a pinball store offered me a GnR for 700 Euro but I preferred a FH for the little less money. 2 years ago I was addicted by a friend. I played his GnR ( for much much more money) and bought one some weeks later ... what the hell .. great sound , nice gameplay, with a shaker added also rumbling.
The machine exists from its sounds. On the playfield you find all you need: Capture ball, great ramps, VUP, etc, pp ... most DE games are similar but GnR rocks. Nice flow of the game with great music.

Play it LOOOUUD !!!

Not a fan of the band, but I have to admit GnR is a great pin... provided it is perfectly maintained.

Pros:
- fits the theme nicely
- a widebody I like!
- A variety of shots, some of them relatively difficult
- I like the selection one can make before each ball

Cons:
- The video mode is repetitive and of little interest
- Antoplunger is not very reliable.
- Music can become repetitive after a while
- the upper left flipper seems (relatively useless)

The greatest DATA EAST of all time! For me GnR personifies pinball...RocknRoll, girls & RocknRoll! If you're not a Guns N Roses fan this is still a fun game with it's ramps shaped like a 'G' & an 'R'...but if you ARE a Guns N Roses fan you'll be hard pressed to find a game you'll enjoy more. It may not be the greatest playing game in history but it has to be one of the most FUN!! Awesome DOTS, SOUNDTRACK, ART & HUMOUR..."of all the bands in the world this is definitely one of them"! LOVE IT!!
