The first game I ever bought. Great fast Steve Ritchie gameplay. I just love fast flowing play and this one has it in spades. Keeps me coming back for just one more game. Love the hidden frenzy.

I absolutely hated this game at first but....What a great game. It took me a little while to get good at this game because if you miss your shots the ball is going either SDTM or out the left outlane. Once you get the hang of it it's one of the best and fastest pins ever!

The Getaway is always good for a few plays. Watching the ball fly around the metal track is a thrill, as is changing gears with your knee as you hit the RPM orbits and race around the playfield. Good fun - not great - but solid as a good game.

I'd recommend giving this game a few plays, but I wouldn't go out of my way to play it. Probably won't ever own this unless it fell off of a truck.

The supercharger is a fun gimmick and the shifting is neat. However, I find myself ready to move one after a few games. This pin is well suited for a gear head that would like to play a game that has better feel, rules and game play than your mediocre titles such as HARDLY Davidson.

Fun, but repetitive after a while. The game sticks with its system 11 roots and doesn't really have modes.

i just got myelf getaway 2 this weekend what can i say its one best pinball machines in 90s A classic game. im Never going to get bored playing it. The supercharger and multiball aspects are truly exceptional for this year of game. This is a fast and very fun game The Getaway: High Speed II" is a deserving sequel. it has been 23 years the legend Steve Ritchie should make getaway 3

What a great, fast flowing game this is. When you hit the loops time and time again its such a good feeling. quite a simple layout, even a first timer can "get it". I find this game the most brilliant of my collection with LED's added. the greens and reds just pop.
Overall a great fun game, and when that siren flashes in multiball mode, the whole room stops to take a look

WOW, what an intense game. After owning it for only a few weeks i have to say there is so much energy in this machine, it really gets my heart pumping everytime i play it! Multiball is an adrenaline rush, getting a jackpot or even a super jackpot is extremely rewarding! I modded my machine with LEDs throughout, some LED Flasher stripes and the blue police flasher topper from mezel mods. In combination with the siren light, the awesome ZZ Top soundtrack and the cool callouts, this game puts on an awesome show.
Gameplay is easy, not very complicated but that's really not needed here, it’s only straight forward like a fast car. Stevie Ritchie flow in a classic package, i really love it right now!

Not sure if this should be rated higher than Mustang but for 1992 it was and still is a great Ritchie game. Time will tell I suppose.

La Grange gets a little tiring. At Least it's ZZ Top. One of the best games ever.

Getaway certainly has a better back glass than the original but as far as play is concerned I like High Speed better.
Too much stuff cluttering the upper playfield. The 3 upper stand up targets are difficult to reach.
Still the flow is nice, the rules are good and the overall play is a blast. Still, I just feel it could have done better, better than the original which it wasn't.

A true classic, in my opinion the best of it's era.

I can play Getaway for hours. LEDs are a mandatory upgrade as the stock lighting leaves much to desire. I remember this being the first game I saw with metal ramps and I think it ties in well with the theme. Very fast. Mucho fun. There's a reason this is ranked high amongst games that are newer (read technology), wider, and 4x the price and planning/design budget. This is a classic that will never grow tiresome. Love it.

The Getaway.... a game I didn't want at first, and then the overall art package made me want one. I wanted to try something different with this one.

Let's go over the goods and the bads:

Goods:

1. As mentioned, superb art package. Excellent cabinet art as long as it does not fade. The reds are sharp as a guillotine. Logo for the game looks like something you'd see on a high-end sports car. Just looks solid.

2. PF layout is great. Only one really main ramp to shoot at, but it's a big one to go for as the entrance to the supercharger. Back ramp for ball lock works very well - very few technical problems or glitches with it. Satisfying kick-out hole in the "mountain" - almost can hear and feel the ball go "thunk!" into it each time.

3. Toys is definitely where HS2 shines a bit. The traffic light is simple but sweet. There's something about it I have always loved; it is very aesthetically pleasing about it. It looks like a literal mini-traffic light you'd see out on the street. Just love it. The supercharger is a beautiful design of optos and magnets with "zero moving parts" that can REALLY get the ball moving when tuned right. If it stops working, it is a bit of a pain to service, but nothing too insanely difficult.

4. Parts for this machine have become a bit more available especially with CPR bringing out the plastics again.

Now the Bad:

1. The rules. I wouldn't say I have to have a ocean-deep ruleset, but this thing is VERY shallow in the rules department. Go for all 5 gears, boom, done. Yeah, you can manipulate things to get more points and not fly through the gears, but this was definitely the first game that I beat repeatedly with little effort. Just, what a drag.

2. 1 orbital, 1 ramp, 1 kick out lane. There's your shots. Yeah, you have to go for the traffic light stand-up targets, but some of that is just pure luck. The bottom two sets of targets I can understand there's some skill involved, but that last set near the pop bumpers - holy cow - you're at the mercy of the pops.

3. PF layout with regards to the pop bumpers/targets. The middle just seems - dead. You shoot in that area, and the ball either nails the stand-up targets or just rolls all around with no real purpose/direction. Just seemed like a dead area to me.

Overall, a very fun game to have in a large collection. This is definitely a non-pinhead friendly game. First timers who don't play much or any pinball will naturally gravitate to it. The theme is excellent, and the sounds of the game will get people involved. For people wanting more of a challenge though, they will move onto the next machine.

I wanted to keep mine, I really did, but in the end, I had to move on.

This one didn't really have anything going for it. I love cars, but it doesn't make me want to own this one. Someone asked if you had to choose this or Nascar; I'd go for Nascar.

This game is sooooooooo fast!!! When everything is running properly this is a great game. The layout of the playfield makes for one fast shot after another and hitting the supercharger (especially in multi-ball) is awesome. All around this is a super fun pin.

An always fun classic for me. Even though the rules are not really that deep the game always attracts me. A game that I would maybe never play for hours and hours but from time to time but that for sure.
The shots feel very good and the ramp toy is a cool feature. Also having real locked balls is always nice!

Definite upgrade from original High Speed. ZZ Top keeps you rocking. The accelerator and gear shift add to the excitement. In my top 25.
