Gottlieb Genie: A System 1 Blast From My Past!

Genie was launched in 1979 and later that year it showed up at our local pizza hangout, Sunshine Pizza Exchange in Hillsboro, Oregon (suburb of Portland). My buddies and I were juniors in high school and would scarf pizza, play pinball and flirt with girls at Sunshine after soccer practice. The Genie and the Magic Wire

My Pinball Projects team owns a gorgeous Gottlieb Genie. It's never been in an arcade, the playfield looks brand new, and a previous owner had put in a credit button. A previous owner had also done some very amateurish repair work, and left the machine in a state of internal debauchery. This is a quick tale, with a valuable lesson.
