This is a fun game. It has that "one more game" quality to it.

You need good nudging skills to keep the ball in play.

Lots of goodies- a rollover gate between two pops for 50 pts, side rollovers that flow into each other and the backglass animation that flips a ping pong ball from one side to the other on add a balls.

The only con to it is some folks don’t take kindly to the large gap between the 2” flippers. I see it as a good game to learn nudging skills on. You'll need them!

The goal is to advance two parallel sets of inserts, green and amber, so that the lit inserts are next to each other. For instance the second green and the second amber are both lit. On comes a red light and the center standup target awards another ball. Not as easy as it looks. You advance them via the green and yellow pops. Some games are a real beating. Some games, the flow is just there and you hit three add a balls in quick succession.

You also get extra balls for scores and for making the top rollovers. It’s all about the extra balls.

It’s fun trying to hit one color pop to advance the inserts without hitting the other color pop which messes up your plan. The insert colors are beautiful. They really make the game shine and go great with the theme. If you are restoring one of these, restor the original inserts. New ones just aren’t as pretty.

If you can only have one or two EMs, you need an add a ball and this one is great.

First comment is regarding the artwork. Backglass is fantastic. Playfield art is also very nice. With the colored inserts this game really pops in the dark.

As for gameplay, the game is pretty quick and the gap between the flippers is huge! Getting extra balls is harder than it seems as it is just so hard to consistently hit the center target.

My main criticism is that I think the rules could have been better, a little bit deeper. Maybe more going on when pairing the lights.

It is though a beautiful game with great back box animation. There is something unique about AAB play as the feeling of being on the last ball and just getting another ball to continue the game. A classic game.

Better than Cross Town? I prefer the art of this game but I do love the 300 point shot on Cross Town so it's a tough call.

It's funny how some things change and some things stay the same.

Another Classic Gottleib game that keeps on giving. Wayne Neyers is the MAN!

The Pros:
An open PF that has a surprising amount of play for its vintage. How can a game this old be so FAST? Getting the central target ladder matched and scored is always a challenge and satisfying when hit. Juggling clowns can be quite frightening, but this one seems quite tame. Light up your bumpers from the top lanes and let her rip! The Roy Parker art package leaves no doubt in your mind that he was the king of pinball artwork for this vintage of games.

The Cons:
Good luck finding one. I prefer the scoring model that Cross Town and Subway offered, which is a bit unusual for me as I usually love AAB's. But that's how I feel about this deck.

The Takeaway:
Simple, but never easy with the temptation of achieveability is the hallmark of a game created by Wayne Neyens and later perfected by Master K.
