Great and challenging machine. The DMD on the playfield is actually quite nice, you don't have to look away to see what is going on. Nudging is paramount when you get into the outlanes, and doing it just right is a learned skill!

Great game, play it if you find it on location. It has tons of fun modes, and just defeating the ringmaster makes it all worthwile!

Great innovation putting the DMD on the playfield. Weird awesome colors and theme, but again, another JPOP Disney with training wheels ruleset. Great artwork and some neat shots but ringmasters should each have had different voices. Too repetitive and WAY TO EASY!!! I beat the game on factory settings the first night I owned it. In fact, I had a friend come over and I was showing him the ruleset and beat the whole game while explaining it to him. Later rinse repeat.
Ick. Jpop needs to find other software developers.

This game was made a classic by the home roms. It will never ever leave my gameroom.

Very good game with the DMD inside the cabinet. that's a great idea to play and have a look at the DMD easily. The artwork is really great in general and gameplay is smooth but not enough deep.

I was really looking forward to playing CV. Finally had a chance to play at Play-land Not at the Beach. Hitting the ring master was fun, but the overall play was a bit slow and boring. After about 10 games I moved on. Maybe the machine was not pitched correctly?

I think this game is gorgeous. The colors are so vibrant and eye catching, and the DMD display mounted in the play area is a brilliant idea that is wonderfully executed. This game plays very well and has lots of fun features(nailing the orbit during juggler multiball is my favorite). My biggest complaint is the scoring doesn't seem very balanced. Someone could play through all the modes and join the circus and not even get enough points to get onto the scoreboard with default scores still on it. I wish the rewards for completing the modes were higher so that you didn't become too focused on continually drilling the ringmaster.

So, when I got the pinball bug originally in 1996, the game that was getting all my attention was TOTAN. It was on location near me and I played it often. Then I played a CV at a bowling alley in Austin several months later, WOW. The ringmaster popping up out of the playfield and taunting you as you hit him throughout the game. "You'd be cranky too, if you had a spring for a neck" After playing about 5 plays on the machine the first day and then another 5 the next day....I had to have it. Was going to pull the trigger on the TOTAN, but thought, this pin will hold my attention far longer.

Glad I chose CV. The ringmaster is awesome and the classic inner loop around the ringmaster makes the game a challenge and super fast. I understand the game is a love it or hate it ...and the artwork turns people off as well, but for me, this is a fantastic pin with a great rule set and the wizard mode (4 tier levels) is fantastic. Love stacking multi-balls together as a risk reward feature. I have the home rom that has the Amazing Rooney, which I and casual players think is cool. The acrobat ramp is not an easy shot and the juggler left loop shot is fun and deadly. If you aren't ready for the ball screaming down the right side when not locking or falling into the subway (gets new players all the time at my place). A classic Bally from the mid 90's that has lasted the test of time for me. "Ahh, your mother drives a dump truck"

I am recanting my original rating. This is a fantastic pin with some great variation! Played it tonight for awhile at a friend's. Great game with lots to do. Too pricey for me to ever own, but cool game!

If you play this pin at an arcade for the first time, I hope you brought a pocket full of quarters. You're going to need them!!

Let me preface this with a note that my CV is in dire need of a full shopping....it's still dirty and has a lot of broken plastics!

I really wanted this game. Played a few times before and just thought it looked near and was fun. Finally got one. My first comments on my very own machine are "need a lot of work"
I'm thinking it needs just a good cleaning and tweaking. Right now it's filled with airballs, dark corners, and bad stuff. I see a lot of potential with this game though.

The artwork is nice. Not sure what acid jpop was on when he designed it, but it's an interesting sight to see! The backbox is neat, but the cannon is very tempermental and I'm half tempted to turn it off. Some of the video modes are corny. But the ringmaster is a great toy, the callouts are great...and the DMD down in the playfield actually makes it easier to watch...

Different can mean anything and this pin is different for sure. I just don't dig dudes in tights trying to join a circus.

Very underrated game IMO. Its beautiful, plays fast and the ramps are not that easy to master (Acrobat ramp). The art and sound are truly unique and Jpop has nailed this one for sure. Can't wait to see his next pin. Still breaking mine in with about 20-30 plays so far. Ill edit my review after 100 plays or so. Im afraid the replay may not be there after beating the Ringmaster. We will see!

Absolutely love this theme.....reminds me of Tour de Fat. Joining the circus is not easy and once you're their it's a challenge, so this game has some lasting ability. The ringmaster gets old pretty quick especially since he makes his appearance after one shot. All in all a great game and would love to add this to my collection just wish there were more of them out there!

A beautiful looker but for me at least, a dud to play.

This machine drove me nuts. I wanted one for a year and I played it on location a few times and liked it a lot. I considered it a "grail" of mine. I found one at a great price and jumped on it immediately. I got it home and within 2 weeks I wanted it gone. I was not having any fun playing it all. The sounds began to irritate me. I found the rules boring and the video modes made me want to jump off a bridge. I would purposefully fail the video modes just to get them over with. The 2.0 home roms were installed. I found TOTAN in the home environment much more enjoyable.

Very fun game, with a lot of neat features! I love the ringmaster and boom balloon popping out of the playfield. I love how brightly-colored the game is, too!

Circus theme is a bit eerie (not in a good way), but other than that, a very solid game!
