I had a great example with few plays on it. The pop bumpers were very lively and I found a lot of the shots pretty fun. It did need some extra rules, but I found the game pretty decent and I really like the way it felt. I can't believe Wico didn't make more machines! Not a bad effort at all for 1984.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon a recently shopped / LED machine in really good condition for a great price. I absutely adore this machine. It’s challenging enough to keep me coming back and I love the grungy post-apocalyptic Mad Max schtick it’s working with.

With LEDs the game looks really great. I will say the top left of the PF isn’t as lit as I’d like, but realistically it’s not like you spend much time there anyway. Getting multiball on the pin takes three aimed shots in one turn (lower gate, lock ball, release ball) and the angle of the first two shots is quite a challenge for me. But I may just not have it mastered yet.

If you get a chance to play one (or better yet, to buy!), do it! They didn’t make very many and it’s a unique pin.

I had one of these fully working briefly. Did not enjoy it one bit. Just shoot the pop bumpers and walk away. The ball will be up there bouncing for a while. Go have a beer and come back, might still be bouncing back and forth up there. There are gifs of this game doing that for a reason.

Af-Tor is a brutal game with a very fast flow. Your shots have to be dead on or they come right back at you. The artwork is a minor let down for a Constantino in my opinion, but I do like the colour choices. This game has so many industry firsts and original features. Its a shame Wico got into the game so late in the age of pinball game manufacturing. I swear they could have been amazing.

Af-Tor is a game that I had never heard of. From a company I had never heard of. It was a nice surprise to see at the Rocky Mountain Pinball Showdown.

The Pros:
A crazy layout with a few really interesting design features. Drop targets by the outlanes that can be reset from the 3 banks of drops on either side of the pf. Big loops around the top arch are surprisingly fast. Starting multiball from the right standup is not easy. Starting it from the center standup is a real feat. The pop garden works well and the drop to lock mech reminds me of Andromeda. The plunge into the pf takes a dog-leg left and is not consistent. Keeps you on yer' toes from the start!

The Cons:
This game feels, different, but not always in a good way. The copy I played had a faded BG and stickers on the pops. I think it looks better this way. In other words, the art pax is Constantino Mitchell approved. ACK! I keep on thinking I'm gonna shake the head of the body of this game.

The Takeaway:
An interesting game that I got to play. Find one if you can!

Its a decent game, a widebody that isn't too slow and has lots of shots. I would like to play it more to get a better feel for the game.
