This is definitely a fun machine. I haven't played the Prem/LE but the Pro has nice flow when you nail it down. Yes, ball saves and full plunges send the ball through the pops which can lead to fast drains, and the magnet can send the ball in any direction, but these are all good things if you're looking for a challenge. I like a punishing Borg. It wouldn't feel right otherwise.

I'm not a big fan of the band but this game gave me a new appreciation for them. The modes seem to go well with the songs and it has a nice feel going from one mode to the next, not unlike Kiss which I also really like.

Overall there's a lot to like here.

I think this is one of Stern's biggest sleepers over the past ten years. This is a really fantastic pro level machine and has one of my favorite toys in pinball. There are a lot of complaints about chaos out of the pop bumpers but that has never really been an issue for me. I think the code may be a little too repetitive but I think this is one of my favorite Borg games and I prefer the pro over the premium and LE models of the game.

Aerosmith is a fun game.

The layout is alright and the toybox lock mechanism is very unique and the highlight of the game (if it works properly). Shooting the ramps is fun too and I don't think missing the upper playfield makes this game any worse. I think the Pro version makes the gameplay a bit less stop and go based than the Premium/LE. The "Elevator" on the Pro looks kind of basic though.

Playing through the songs is fun but I think other music pins (Metallica, AC/DC) handled the rules a bit better. Despite there being many modes the game got a bit repetitive after a while for me. But playing the six ball multiball and being able to choose the number of balls is a very nice feature of the ruleset.

The artwork is very good and it is almost on the same level as on Metallica. And the LCD screen is really used to good effect in my opinion.

All in all this is a good and fun game with a very nice multiball feature. It will be ideal for fans of Aerosmith.

Just bought this pin and IMO this is one of the most beautiful looking games out there. Music is great and goes well with pinball. The toy box may be the best mech in pinball. Shots are tight which makes it challenging to get thru modes first time in. Played the premium too and feel like the flow is much better in the Pro. Game is definitely bolted to the floor.

I cannot be more outside of the target demographic for this game, and I largely ignored it upon its initial release, but man is this game a sleeper. To start with, I don't like the band at all. And I don't particularly like the Dirty Donnie Art package, although I can appreciate his unique style, and that some people love it. I would rather it be distinct like this, than photoshopped and boring.

But after I started playing it, it's really a fun game to play. The layout is fast and smooth, and fun to shoot with a nice mix of shots. It's a Borg, and I think it ranks among his better layouts. What really shines to me is how well the rule set matches the layout. It's easy to learn, but still has wrinkles that make it interesting. I love that it allows you to hold off on your multiball start and gamble to try and lock more balls before you start. Getting the full 6 balls is a great feeling.

And that toybox shot is a properly cool moment and mech. Overall, great game hampered by a bad band.

Not sure why people hate on this game. Having owned all the top rated I rather enjoy this game. Straightforward, great toy, great art, and great music. I don’t see me selling this one anytime soon.

My least favorite new Stern. There's empty space everywhere, the shots are clumsy, but most of all, the upper magnets are aggressive and random, making this infuriating to play in competition. I've been furious after winning matches because of how little of the game came down to actually making shots. Also the ball save goes through pops, so you can be house-balled on the pops immediately after the save or an initial hard plunge as there's no consistent return on the left side. The toy chest is a really well-executed feature, but other than a fun storage flip, and allowing for a chaotic six-ball multiball (have fun trying to make those far away shots with five other balls in your way) it doesn't actually add to the lackluster game play.

Pros: The lock box flip is fun to watch, the theme and art design are consistent and well-executed. I think going with the 70's style theme makes sense and is visually pleasing.

Cons: Gameplay is incredibly random, no satisfying shots, playfield is too open, one of the lock triggers is way more likely to be hit by slop shots, just a mess to play.

It's a fine game. I am an Aerosmith fan and appreciate the music and art on display, but it is very basic. About the coolest thing is the eject out into the toy chest.

Despite technically not being a horrible game, I strongly dislike it and consider this the worst new stern.
Pro’s:
Uses a time tested Rule format.

If you love Aerosmith, this is your game.

Art is pretty great tbh, I wish Dirty Donny would do more Pinball art.

Animations are so-so, though the animations with the Super modes are excellently done.

Con’s:

The playfield design, in my opinion, is not great, with the lock shot in particular sticking out as a terrible shot in my opinion. The Elevator kickout is also ridiculously hard.

Considering guardians was also released around the same time, what is the point to play this game? They have near identical rule sets, yet guardians executes everything else far better. Therefore, there is little reason to play this game if you can play a Guardians. Kiss is also another game with a similar ruleset, and also manages to be better designed and overall a better game.

Overall, this game just is not great, and is bogged down by the existence of Guardians and Kiss. If you have access to either of those games (unless you are a die-hard Aerosmith fan) I’d go and play either of those over this. I also reviewed the Pro, as the Premium differences are noticeable, yet generally insignificant in my opinion.

Edit: my previous review was overly harsh. The game is nowhere near as bad as previously stated. Is it great? No. Is it good? Probably. I still don’t particularly care for the game, but I’ve looked past my stigma and can see that it’s at least decent. Leaving up the review instead of deleting, as I think people should see why the flags are there. Scores pushed up to where they should be.

Excellent pinball. The game is fun with an excellent circulation of the ball. Aerosmith’s musics perfectly fit the pinball fun spirit. The 6 balls multiball is great, in particularbwhen the box pukes the 6 balls on the field. At last, the design makes it one of the most beautifull pinball ever.

Was a teenager in the 90s and grew up on Aerosmith. This game really surprised me at how fun it was. Loved the placement of the pop bumpers and the toy chest is a great gimmick. Would love to own this someday

Fly's under the radar this one. One of sterns best and I should know having owned most at what time and another. I'm not a fan of the band but I love the risk reward aspect of MBs and of course the "uplift" of the mode shot values is a nice feature. Great shooter Never completed it yet in the wild, and have just picked one up. It's on the todo list.

I enjoy modern games if they bring the theme, sounds and layout all together in a cohesive package. Aerosmith deals this in spades on the pro, arguably the best trim level on this title. Absolutely fantastic art package from DD (and I love MET), from playfield, cabinet, to translite. Borg shots never get old and the toybox feature not only stands out, but promotes a stacking - risk/reward gameplay experience I enjoy. Simple pinball joy. The animations may get knocked by critics, but blends perfectly with the rest of the package. This one flys under the radar, knocked as a KISS retread or another old man rock theme, but that’s ok - I’ll keep enjoying it.

They have the Pro version at Pinball Museum in Vegas, and much to my surprise I loved this game. I'm surprised it's not higher rated, really. The shots were fund and fairly easy, I thought. The ball that pops into the open cabinet (?) is really cool and I even achieved multi-ball in game, which always boosts the fun factor (for me)...
I life (don't love) the music options and achieved the option to select my song in-game, which is always cool.
I wasn't expecting to like the game as much as I did. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall game play and would absolutely give this game my attention (and money) if I come across it again out in the wild... I thought it was an overall fun game that anyone who enjoys the music pins should give a shot! Enjoy...

Played the Premium and own the Pro ( I like both). I love the relatively open playfield. The Toybox is a great feature of course, but also the Elevator multi adds another element to it all. One aspect I really like compared to most other games is that in multi ball, there are many places the balls can pause (scoop, toy lock, elevator) so that you don't have every ball in play all the time. It really slows things down a bit and because of this I'm able to keep multi going for much longer than most other games. Love that. I also find (and this is common on all rock pins) that the music selection really helps so it's not too repetitive. And with Pinball Browser you can add anything you want song-wise. The artwork is hard to fault, so colourful and with its great lighting, it really is a pleasure to look at and play. Highly recommended. It's my first rock pin and I love it.

One downside is that it can become repetitive. You’re either shooting the lights, or loading the toy box. That’s about it. And the toy box is pinball’s easiest shot, so it can grate a bit. For friends visiting it’s nice and easy though, and the one they stick with the longest because they can have a longer game. It’s easy to stop the ball in AS. But mine is moving on now due to it being a bit of a rinse repeat scenario.

I enjoy the classic music and the game overall. It’s not overly difficult but the shots are still satisfying. I wish it had a bigger catalog of music and the animations are weak. Above average toys and really good art overall. This game has continued to garner attention in my small lineup when people come over.

Great art, good rock music, and above average fun.

In my opinion, this is the best Stern PRO out there, The premium one is take it or leave it to me, But as a PRO model, this does extremely well, The way the ball is FLUNG into the lock is amusing, the fact that you can cancel multiball to lock more balls leading to high scores is a GREAT feature, High scoring can be had in this game ,and it is a CHALLENGE to fully complete every single song mode, combined with amazing music and an amusing toy chest, you have yourself a really great game.

Outstanding.
