Ah, so you shot some cool photos of a pinball machine that you want to share on the Pinside? Cool!
Uploading pics
Let's suppose we are uploading photos to the machine "Star Trip" from Game Plan.
- Open the page for the machine for which to upload photos. In this case, Star Trip.
- Go to the gallery tab
- Go to "upload and manage YOUR pics"
- You are now in the image manager screen. You can either:
- Drag and drop the photos from Windows Explorer or Mac Finder into the dotted box. Remember that drag and drop will not work in every browser! You're generally fine in Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
- Alternatively press the "click here for manual upload" button to select one or more files. This should work in all browsers! - Your files will now upload, indicated by "spinning boxes" on the left. Have some patience untill it finishes uploading.
Properly categorizing images
As you may have seen on the gallery tab, all images are nicely categorized: playfield images, cabinet images, promotional images etc. To do this, simply select one of your uploaded images, then chnage their category in the details box on the right. See screenshot.
Setting the "splash" image
Now suppose the machine does not have a "splash" image or thumbnail yet. Or maybe the existing thumbnail is not a nice straight up shot of the backglass whilke you have uploaded one that would be perfect. Simply contact the webmaster and I will set the game's thumbnail to your image. Remember, to qualify for splash image, it must be a nice shot of the backglass.
If a game does not have a backglass, like the above example "Star Trip", another representative image is fine. Something that will people instantly recognise the game when scrolling through a list of machines.
