If you've received a 'Your new Pinside.com password' email you weren't expecting, it's probably because someone entered your email-address into our 'Forgot your Password' form. Another user may have done this if they incorrectly believed they are the owner of that email-address, or if they misspelled theirs. Regardless, unless someone has access to view your email, your account is safe and you can discard the email.

Pinside.com uses an automated daily process to index the prices of machines sold on Ebay (USA). Every week another process is run, which turns all of the indexed prices into an average for each machine in our database. We use some advanced boolean algorithms to determine which machine is which. So basically, the price you are seeing for a machine is the weighted average of all prices for which that machine went on Ebay in the past two years (we chose this period to keep prices current with inflation and stuff like that). Off course, you should not blindly trust our price indications but always do some research yourself before spending way to much on that brand new pin!

I did not know I loved the complexity and detail of pinball machines until I fell in love w/ my friend's Corvette machine. I then had to have one myself. I'm an engineer and am captivated by complex machines like cars and now pinball machines. Trying to pick up some advanced playing technique now...
