    They are mostly old men.

Would be a toss up between RUSH and Maiden. As much as I love Pink Floyd, I don't think their music lends itself to a pin very well. Now a "The Wall' themed pin would be kind of cool.

I think the Beatles could work as well.

    #10 11 years ago

Sgt. Pepper could be a whole machine in itself!

    #11 11 years ago

i think a RADIOHEAD pin would be pretty tight.

    #12 11 years ago

I suggest ” Monsters of Rock.” We could have our creatures, zombies, sexy ladies and classic rock hits from multiple great bands.

I talked to Jack at MPE and he reported it would be tough with all the licensing fees. The fees don't seem to stop from keeping those companies from producing the rock compilations sold in sets. Maybe not as hard as thought?

We could have modes and multiballs set up for individual bands. Here comes the VH multiball and the cradle will rock!

    #13 11 years ago

Not pumped by any of the choices.
Bands like Rush have some great stuff hands down, and then 10 albums of garbage.

I think out of those I'd rather do a throwback style game with Zep or like spftxted said narrow the theme for Sgt. pepper.

Yes, "The wall" could work. Lots of great artwork out there already to work with.

    Black Sabbath for the win.

    #23 11 years ago

Voted for Iron Maiden but would have liked to have seen Kraftwerk on the list. Aphex Twin could make for a good one too....

Totally down with that. My personal favorite classical composer. Twilight of the gods is an awesome disk set.

Good lord that would be frikkin crazy. Sign me up for that just to see what the hell they come up with. Better have the speaker upgrade straight from the factory.

    Where is this option?

Huge props for Aphex Twin! That could be a very, very twisted machine.
    + Squarepusher
    + BT
    + Slayer
Yes, I know none of these will happen.

Always thought the run at 0:48 from Rush's Circumstances would make a cool end-of-ball bonus countdown:

if van halen were done as good as metallica, I would honestly sell anything I had to in order to buy NIB. Must feature the 51 mercury car (panama with LED headlights), and drop dead legs

    #30 11 years ago

I'd prefer Elvis Costello, but then, I like only GOOD music! <grin>

Great call on THE WALL. Dark Side would be pretty sweet with LED's shining through the prism though...

    #34 11 years ago

As for Slayer, I was actually more into them then Metallica back in the day, especially once my sister got into Metallica . Anyway, I think it would fall under the same for me as Metallica today, I’m just not feeling them like I did when I was a kid so (yah I was always pissed off), I doubt I’d purchase a pin based on their music. They were not added to the poll because they only had a single mention in my previous thread that this poll was created from.

    #35 11 years ago

I'd take a Black Sabbath pin over an Ozzy Pin. Pantera is my "reasonable" dream pin but Buckethead or Frank Zappa win out if i can be unreasonable.

My friend, you are middle aged, LOL.

    #37 11 years ago

I'm surprised by all the Beatle love. I dig their music as well and the art could be some crazy shit, not sure I'd buy a pin based off of them. It would have to be only from Magical Mystery Tour forward for me. The early stuff is just to bubblegumy.

    To sum up....
"The Wall" is an album, not a song, by Pink Floyd.
"The Wall" you're posting here, is the movie "The Wall," Based on the album by Pink Floyd, which is one of the bet movies ever made.
Everyone in the band hates the movie "The Wall."
Everyone in the band hates Roger Waters and a Pin will never be made.

If Stern wants a to make a music pin that would have strong overseas sales they should consider a Queen machine. Queen are extremely popular in Europe, Japan, and South America.

My friend, you are middle aged, LOL.

You're only as old as you feel

As far as music is concerned, I’m pretty sure more people around the world listen to the Beatles than “insert Metal Band here.” Perhaps more pinheads are head bangers than Beatle fans, but the Beatles have sold more albums (246.1 million in certifiable sales) than any other band period. They released 23 studio albums in a 7 year period (24 if you count the White album as two records). They generated 20 #1 hits in the US over a 6 year period, more than any other band or solo artist to date.

The Beatles are pretty much number one, or damn near close, in almost every notable top 100 billboard category, see for yourself (under Artist Achievements section):

Too new for the pinball crowd.

Every band on the list is from the 60's or 70s.
