#4 11 years ago

Looks great. i like the phone.

#5 11 years ago

Awesome! I'm also wondering where you found it...

#6 11 years ago

I have Moe and I have the phone. The bar backdrop looks like a "must have". Everyone wants to know...where did you get it?

#7 11 years ago

Wow.... Very cool!

Me want!!!!!

#8 11 years ago

Great, now you just gotta do something with that freaky head..

#9 11 years ago

Looks great Ryan....er.....I mean Blue. C'mon, don't make us beg. Where did you get this mod?

#10 11 years ago

I'm kind of concerned that the bar is located so close to the school.

#11 11 years ago

Sorry to leave you guys hanging, I was out with the family LOL. I actually made the mod myself, and so can you! I picked up one of these at a garage sale and just cut it to size. Nothing permanent to the game has to be done. Im sure you can find them on ebay

I installed the bar mod today. Before installation, I went to a local craft store and purchased a small mirror. I then had the mirror trimmed to fit inside the mirror frame depicted behind the bar. I then super glued the mirror in place. It's a great mod but too bad it's partially hidden by Homer's head and my added Moe figure. Many thanks to bluevegas for the additional installation advice. Very much appreciated.

Mine arrived yesterday. What did you guys use to cut it?

I bought the mirror at Pat Catan's Craft Store. They measure 2" square and came 4 in a package for 89 cents. I then had a guy at a local "stained glass" shop, cut the mirror, not quite in half so it would fit in the bar's simulated mirror frame. I took the bar with me so he would know the exact measurement. It took him 2 seconds to cut it and he did not charge me. When installing the bar in the game, it will interfere with the red flasher dome in that location. You can do what bluevegas did and just remove the dome from the game. I chose to cut the dome in half to allow room for the bar. Do NOT cut through the locking ring at the base of the dome or the dome will not "lock" in place. When viewed from the front, the dome will appear as stock, since you only cut out the back section. I hope this makes sense.

I just used a hand saw with a blade used for cutting through plastic. Worked great! After, I sanded down any rough edges.

Maximum respect.

I like "pimps" like this, sooo much.

#30 11 years ago

Looks great blue, well played! Not intrusive in any way but adds to the overall look.

#31 11 years ago

That mod makes me want the pin! Very cool.

#32 11 years ago

I just added mine. I've got to make a couple more adjustments to square it up and secure it in there, but I'm pretty happy with it. I put some red and orange LEDs above it to give it more of a bar look, and a purple LED over the pay phone.

Here are a couple shots of mine. Thanks for this great idea. I have a slow color changer above the phone and two CT Super Flex LEDs above the counter pointing down. I only had cool white on hand and will order some different colors to play around with.

^that's awesome!

#37 11 years ago

Dumb question. What do you use to "mount" these kind of mods? I don't want to use anything permanent or anything that would leave a mess behind if I wanted to take it off. I used sculpters clay (see pic of Santa's Helper) but I don't really like the white bottom.

Nice, Eddie! Looks great! Some people are using velcro... I was also curious though. Especially for the side mounted stuff.

Oh, hell yeah! Screw my red, orange, and purple LEDs. THIS is the way to go! And off to CoinTaker I go...

I used Velcro for mine. Worked like a charm. Once cut, that plastic piece is very lightweight. Just put a little velcro at the bottom of it and you're good to go.

#41 11 years ago

Dang Mauikiter that looks awesome! You took Blue's idea and amped it up BIG TIME! Kudos to Blue as well for sharing his ideas with fellow pinheads.
