Down here for a long weekend, and checked out some pinball.
I'm staying in Carrboro, and walked into the Orange County Social Club. In the back, in a pitch-black corner, was a pinball with absolutely no backbox or GI lighting. Upon very close inspection, I determined it was an Elvis. I managed to find the coin slot and deposited two quarters. I could barely see anything, but it seemed to be functioning properly. Was probably dirty, but it was literally impossible to tell. Wonder if it's a board issue or simply all the lights burning out. No op sticker evident. Someone should make an offer to them, they don't seem to care about it.
A mile down the road was the Chapel Hill Underground, with two very nice pins, AC/DC Premium and LOTR. Both work great and are 50 cents a play. Funny how I have now played maybe a dozen AC/DCs on location and every one has been a Premium/LE. Wonder how many Pros have actually sold. Also walked by Scared Stiff at Local 506 but didn't play.
Also made it out to Fullsteam Brewery in Durham. Nice place with Airborne, Silver Slugger, and Lethal Weapon 3. All are in nice shape, even look freshly rubbered. Cool, eclectic lineup! Airborne seemed to have some trough issue, though. Silver Slugger is really fun considering it's a stripped-down 90s Gottleib.
Just saw that someone posted another Durham location with 3 games today. Probably won't make it back to try, maybe next time...
