I think it would be an awesome pin if done right. Resident evil movies are okay, but the last few video games are trash. I would rather see the walking dead vs Resident Evil any day of the week.

Can't get enough Zombies, especially when they are done as well as in the Walking Dead.
I think a pin on this theme could be great depending on how it's done with layout and rule set.
I enjoy the show, but just like many have said, I don't think it would make a good pin. Way too serious.
I like zombies and Walking Dead, but I don't see the translation to pinball. The show is too much drama and not enough action, it's sci-fi yes, but way too serious. A lot of people have voted yes to the poll though, so I wonder if they would share how they see the show translating to pinball.
Quoted from TigerLaw:Walking Dead would be great; but Return of the Living Dead would be beyond awesome! Braaaaaaiiiiiiinssssss!!!!!!!!!
I'm pretty sure I would sell my soul for a ROFTLD Pin. That and an Evil Dead Trilogy pin... plus Evil Dead does have a remake slated for theaters.
I would say my zombie pin preference would be:
1. Resident Evil (Movies or Video game version)
2. Zombieland (with lots of Emma Stone)
3. Walking Dead
Either way, just get us a friggin zombie pin already or at least a new horror theme of some sort, we are overdue.
I love Walking Dead, and would love to see it as a pin theme, but I have to reluctantly agree that Resident Evil would probably be easier to translate to a pin. That's not to say I don't like RE by any means. I'd even be fine with using the movies...with lots and lots of Milla. Mmm...Milla...
Either would be a huge win in my book. Even better would be George Romero's Pinball of the Dead (yes, I know the name is already taken..but I'm just dreaming here), incorporating bits of all of the master's Dead movies. Especially Night and Dawn.
Who am I kidding...any zombie theme would make me happy!

SO with you on both counts. That new Evil Dead though, the teaser looked way too serious/scary to fit with what we've come to think of as Evil Dead. It looked awesome, don't get me wrong.
The issue of translating such a "serious" and graphic topic to a pin is a legit one, but that does not stop me from wanting it to happen SOMEHOW!
I just had to order the 1st season on blue ray to see what all the hype is about! I have never seen a episode

Be careful. Very addictive man-town soap opera!
I asked Gary if he would ever consider making a zombie pin a few years ago, and he said "No, to gross". I hope he changes his mind. If I could make it the way I want to, I would get the artist of the Comic book to do the art. The comic book is in black and white... I think color would need to be added, unless it was done well like Centaur. I think it would look amazing in black, white and red! But not many would get that take on the art.
Comic book art is great, but connection to actual characters is important. Return of the Living Dead has a HUGE cult following, and has probably been seen by every Zombie fan ever. The Walking Dead has the same type of following, so connecting TV franchise to pin would be easier than reintroducing same characters in cartoon form which only a tiny portion of TV viewers have ever heard of.

I have to think they are going to have Resident Evil for an LCD game...too much footage not to. I think I may have said that this morning, so perhaps this is a double post for me so I'll do a quote from ROTLD (which really should get the nod for a pinball machine):
"Send....More...Paramedics."
Quoted from Rabscuttle:Rabid... weasels.
What? What the hell are you doing with a bunch of rabid weasels?

I agree, that is why I said....

Does the pinball machine need to be based off a movie or game such as resident evil, walking dead etc
i would think a zombie themed game in itself would be cool

It would ALL be good my compatriots!
I ran the 5k Run for your Lives race, that was awesome! I died though, as did most others. Great time; folks dressed up as Zombies were awesome! Had the shufflers, the sprinters, and the running Undead.
I think Zombieland would be a better choice for a Pin. It had the right balance of Zombies and Comedy.
That being said I'd love any Pin based on a Zombie theme.

Zombieland would be a great choice.
If Stern gave me the power to re-theme an existing game layout to a Walking Dead Game, I would choose 24.
First, replace Chloe sound with sounds of Zombie Gurgles.
Use the sniper hurry up shot as a Daryl Crossbow hurry up shot
Replace the Suitcase with the Prison.
Replace the Safe house with Dale's Camper or Hershel's farm.
Use the pop up drop targets as zombies and incorporate them into modes like a timed "Herd" mode. Shoot X drop targets before they get you (flipper power dies) Or lock a ball in the Prison to end the mode.
I would add a toy on the ramps of Michionne Chopping off the head of a zombie. One switch could cause Michionne Toy to swing her Katana, another switch could cause the zombie head to flip off the neck and a third switch could reset them both for another ramp shot.
Replace the ball launcher with a Python Handgun (Rick's gun).
Any other suggestions for re-theming 24 to The Walking Dead?
Marcus
not bad.....add a shaker for ball loss.

While I love walking deAd and would prob buy the game NIB, it is a pretty serios drama with literally no humor. Games don't absolutly need humor to be great, look at Tron (not one joke or light hearted comment in the entire game, other than Zuse's libations comment), but most pinball games need some light hearted moments...walking dead would provide none.
I'd buy any zombie themed game though.
Quoted from centerflank:Watching act of valor, I say a navy seal pin! God Bless our military!
That might not sell so hot in Dubai though...
Not my kind of theme. But i guess zombies are quite popular at the moment. Like supermenlike themes.
I am more a traditional themed guy i think. Give me a train pinballmachine, dont need that supernatural/unhuman stuff.
Its more for kids around here. And very american, which is normal cause they are made in america, .
AMC has been picking on the Dish Network for 6 months now. They even have commercials showing Dish Subscribers going to cable subscribers houses to watch this show! Funny.
AMC.com has free viewing of season three episode one this week.

To anyone still subscribing to dish, I highly recommend dropping them asap

I just signed on for a additional 2 years lol I could buy out yet I own so many receivers I have like 9 at my house. On top of this Lakers sold the broadcasting rights to Time warner so no lakers games for me and I am a huge fan. Time warner service is not available in my area so I couldn't get it if i wanted to. I hear there suppose to make a deal yet I am going to miss allot of games. I have league pass and local teams are blacked out FML

Woof! Best of luck to ya!
I cancelled direct tv 2.5 years ago and never looked back.....FREEDOM!
I am going to find out what all this hype is tonight. Not only did I order the 1st season on blue ray I ordered the 2nd season also in that collector edition set with the head and the screw driver threw the eye! Again I have never seen a episode and am going to start a marathon tonight! I have feeling I am in for a treat as I love horror films and Zombies

That you are. One of the best shows on television along with Game of Thrones, True Blood and Spartacus.
Quoted from TigerLaw:That you are. One of the best shows on television along with Game of Thrones, True Blood and Spartacus.
Love Spartacus! Cant wait for new season " War of the Damned" in Jan. True Blood I also watch yet I feel the last few seasons its fell off a bit yet still a fan. Game of thrones I don't follow yet.

They named the new season War of the Damned? Sweet! I was tickted when they killed Ashur last season. I really thought they were going to do some kind of spin off show. House of Ashur or something like that. Would have been an awesome spin off show...one of the greatest TV villians of all time in many ways.
Oh, you'll dig Game of Thrones too . . . and while the TV show is great the novels are even better . . . I'd suggest reading the novels first to tell you the truth; best way to get into it.

That is why the first zombie pin should be based on the movie Zombieland.
Zombies, humour and a hot chick what more could you ask for? Oh and Bill f**kn Murray!!!!

I'd rather see JJP or SkitB do a zombie theme.

Horse and buggy thinking.
Done with the 1st season great show hooked. Was up last night until 3:30am. Tonight I start season 2
