This is my list of 'Grade 4' games. I started with the top 300 list from ipdb.com and all values are based on the Boston Pinball Ebay summary. IPDB rating, Pinside rating, and price all have equal weight in the final ranking. The list is sorted from highest to lowest total score. On several games there was no Pinside rating so I used the IPDB rating twice. Complaints can be directed to that wall over there, but I'm always open to ways to improve the ratings. The PDF includes the data used to create the ranking.

You're welcome. I'm a nerd through and through.

Yes, thanks for the listings. Looking forward to Grades 1-3.

I need to get out more, I think I've only played four on this list (Rollergames, Rescue 911 and Silverball Mania, High Roller Casino), no argument from me about their placement though.

Combining letter and number grades is too confusing. I give you an A1 for effort but a >&$# for presentation.

I gave up on the letter grades because people were having flashbacks to high school report cards. From here on out it's Grade 1-5, because absolutely everyone has agreed to like that.

I'm double posting this from the Grade 5 list because I think it's important.

As for price, I'll use two games as an example to demonstrate why I think it's important: Theater of Magic, and The Addams Family. These games are as close as two games can be to each other in my list.

    Average Rating
    ToM 8.383
    TAF 8.419

Based on rating alone these games are nearly equal. But they made 21,270 TAF, and only 6,600 ToM. That means TAF should be significantly cheaper than ToM because they have equal game play value. However, we all know differently...

    Boston Pinball Price
    ToM $4578
    TAF $4813

That tells me that there's a hidden factor that makes TAF much more valuable than the rating and production numbers would imply. As this thread and many other have proved, we all have emotional attachment to certain games. When we're asked to be objective, I think we rate even our favorite games objectively. However when it's time to buy a game those emotions come out to play. We'll all pay more for the games we love, and I think integrating the price into this list reflects that.

Sweet, I have several of these titles and love em!

The fact that Alien Poker is on the same level as some of those games is kinda upsetting....That game is great. Interesting list though, fun to see the other levels.
