I've posted before about www.JoyStixAmusements.com, where I bought my Flash and High Speed. Well, every first and last Friday of the month they host 'Pac Man Fever'. For $15, you can play every game in the showroom from 9:00pm 'till 2:00am. There is a bar, and they encourage you to drink and play. Last night was the first time I was able to go - and I had a BLAST!

Here's a few pics - there are more on my website (http://www.bradberryman.com/Joystix_20110805.htm)

Wow I would love to go there and I just might! I've got a brother who lives just outside of Houston, a little town called Merrietta....may be time to go see him before the summer comes to an end. Thanks for postin' Sunking

I've been there several times. Charles is a great guy, and that place is only open to the public 4 days a MONTH. $15 door fee and free play.

He is WAY too proud of his machines. Over priced big time

Charles is there most every day. If you call and set up an appointment, he's happy to let you in (for free). I work downtown, and there have been several times where I would have a little extra time over lunch. I just gave him a call and asked if he would be around - great way to spend the lunch hour. Regarding his prices, I will agree that you can find cheaper pins. I have four in my collection now - two that I've bought from him, and two that I got from ebay/Craigs List. Everyone feels differently, but I don't mind spending a little extra money for the quality customer service. I haven't found anyone on eBay or Craig's list that will give me a warranty, or take the pin back later as trade in for another.

On that note, I'm thinking of trading in my High Speed for a Lord of the Rings. I've played all the new Sterns (Tron, Avatar, SM, IM, RS, etc) and IMHO, they don't have the 'fun factor' that I found in LOTR. It will be my 1st DMD pin - I'm looking for something with a deeper rule set than HS.

It great to see an arcade full of people having fun. Fifteen bucks for up to 5 hours of play-thats not that bad of a price in my opinion. I can go to my local casino and spend that same fifteen dollars in about 30 seconds. I really want to see arcades make a comeback and I will support any and all that try. Thanks for posting SunKing.

SunKing. I agree Charles is a great guy. I have been there several times for free during the day. If he wasn't there, he just had Charlie let me in and said have fun. I like how they leave you alone and just let you play. I also do agree that there is some inherent value in buying from him. He will give you a good trade on one of his machines if it has been taken care of. I also like how you know it has been fully shopped and working great.

I played all the Sterns he has there a few weeks ago. That LOTR is BEAUTIFUL. As is Tron, but I found it a bit boring. Fun to play on location, but seems it would get old in home
