I found a bunch of displays in a storage unit and don't have a pin to test them in. Someone here suggested that I could hold the contacts up to a plasma ball to test them. Well, I tried it and it seemed to work. Just thought it was interesting. It's probably old news around here but I made a short video to show it anyway:

Well that's proof positive to me.

Yeah, not kidding here... Don't touch the leads when you do that little trick. It isn't even a little bit funny.

+1 on that. It will shock the shi* out of you. Also you don't even have to hold the contacts to it. Put the glass right against the plasma ball and it will energize the display.

The plasma ball in the vicinity of my Mac (like 4 feet away) also seems to disrupt the touch-pad and keep it from working.

I can bring these displays to CAX if anyone is interested in buying them. Is $150 a decent price for all of them?

...keep that thing away from your shorts.....

I actually did shock myself pretty good yesterday doing this. It was more startling than anything. I mean, it hurt...but you get over it.
