I have connected my AC/DC pinball to a LCD monitor.
Here is the result :
I only used a low cost FPGA demo board, a few resistors and connectors for this (no processor or software are involved in this, only coded logic). The images can be displayed in single color (any RGB combination) or fake colors as show in the 2nd part of the video.
I am working on Pinball Browser in order to add color images
Some FPGA board already have SVGA interface but are more expensive.
The reason why I am using this specific FPGA board is that I won it at a forensic challenge and I didn't know what to do with it...
Very easy to install : just unplug the dmd ribbon cable from the sam pcb and plug it on the board, connect the Sam pcb to the board and use a USB cable to get power from the Sam pcb.
The monitor could also be placed behind the backglass to replace the existing dmd.
