An operator called me today and asked me to look at 2 machines on location. A t2 and a no good golfers. Both are still on location neither games plays perfect both have some issues. He told me it was between me and another guy whom ever made the best offer got the games. What would you offer. Without seeing them I was thinking 3k.

The same guy sold me an Austin powers that had a bad Dmd in it for 1400.

Routed games are things they used to call "Pinball Machines." They are all made, possibly more so back then, to be put on route. Without knowing anything more, it's impossible to weigh in. Main thing is always, in every case, condition condition condition. Playing correctly doesn't worry me as much as "huge gaping holes were the slam ramp comes down or every insert being fried to hell."

Oh, and the "other guy" doesn't exsist.

EDIT: oh and it's "Gofers." They blew up the 'L.'

So as long as the playfields are in good shape do you guys think 3k is too much or little.

All depends on your level of skill fixing things. The 'fun' of buying machines off route is a lot of times they have easily fixable issues. I see a string of lights out, I'm happy. You can knock money off because they don't wanna deal with it, and I can repin the board for 50 cents.

NGG is a 2800-3200 game and T2 is what...1500-1800? Both for 3gs? I mean it's a "good deal" depending on what the condition is and what the condition means to you.

EDIT: But what is the "other guy" gunna bid. I'm willing to guess more than you at first.

I have a guy in town that will change out the male pins on the board. Last time he charged me 20 and changed out 2 connectors plus sent me home with the female moles and pins for the other side. So u don't think he has another outlet but just trying to get me to raise my offer. This guy has tons of them and said he would give me 1st bite on them. I got a AP with a burnt Dmd for 1400 really nice cab and playfield. I just don't want to low ball him to bad cause I want access to the rest of his machines. So would a NGG that has a nice playfield and works properly would sell fast at the 2800 price point because T2 at 1800 I don think would sell quickly.

It's just a guess. Look, this whole thing is aboot scoring a massive deal (AKA "The Dream"), or getting a good deal, a flat deal, or getting out. I've been sweet dicking this operator in my town for years..someday it'll pay off
I don't know what a T2 goes for...1500 i imagine it wouldn't be too hard to sell.
A NGG in nice condition round these parts would sell quick at 2800...and we gots good deals here.
If I could find a good NGG & T2 for 3k i would buy the straight away, and i have zero interest in T2. Seems low...but remember the dream!

When I talked to him on the phone I told him 2500 blind offer and he said these were nice games. LOL... I guess the buy is for the NGG. Decisions..

I looked at games today. Cabinets both nice. Playfields are both really dirty but look like they will clean up really nice. NGG no display but turns on wont kick up a ball to get the game started. T2 has broken plastics missing ship. Skull looks to be broken. Wont turn on speaker makes a sound. Flipper stuck in on position.

so, what you gonna offer? thousand a piece?

#12 10 years ago

after your you seeing them I would walk in with 2k in cash and say I will take them right now...it appears there is a little more to be fixed then a few light bulbs..

Sounds like 2 "Nice Games."

#14 10 years ago

This guy has over 100 machines he is gonna be selling off. I offered him 2500 blind over the phone and he said that these were nice games. Lol. I am leaning towards 3k. He says he has another guy that's gonna look at them too.

Sounds like a couple project machines, far from the "nice games" he describes. I don't think something that won't even coin up constitutes "nice" by most people's standards.

If you can get them for $3000 ($2k for Gofers, $1k for Terminator) you probably won't be going TOOOO wrong. I would hesitate to pay much more, though. Then again, I've had bad luck buying not-fully-working games from ops.

Another valuable contribution to the topic at hand. Do you think of karma points as pokemon?

It looks like my foot is in the door. I am gonna be getting a lot of pins. All different kinds prolly so e EMs and a bunch of early Solid state games. A lot will be projects that I will prolly just be passing on. I pick up t2 and gofers on Tuesday.
