Here are some pics of the AFM I bought from an operator in NC last month. I posted that the cabinet was faded almost to full white. I don't know what I was smoking when I first saw the game, but clearly that is not the case. Crazy! I would have sworn that it was fully faded. Head decals not too bad at all. Did a quick shop on it omitting removing the ball guides and rebuilding the bumpers but everything on the playfield was cleaned and anything under the pf that contacts the ball. I wanted to get it up and running before my son got home for Mother's Day.

I replaced the SOL scoop with one from Mantis, added the Cliffy, replaced the two green standups at the red target bank from LSOG, rebuilt the HV section of the AV board with kits and parts from Great Plains, installed light blue post rubbers but didn't like them and went back to black but may try orange, repaired two of the LEDs on the mothership, repaired a couple flakey light boards, myriad switch adjustments, installed hi gloss pinballs which are really cool during strobe multiball. I chose the skyline decal for the pf backboard as it made more sense to me than the cosmic theme. Did a bit of a cob job on the return to battle insert that's needs more attention.

While at Pinfest in Allentown with Danny I picked up a set of PHX decals, a first run ceramic Micro pf from Jack James, who is a really nice guy. Curley looked it over with me and endorsed the purchased as did Dan from IPB. Gene was Gene, "Well, what we do is ..." "That's great, Gene, but you don't have an AFM pf to offer!" I was really impressed that Jack let me take the pf and go to other vendors to examine it. Plus, he gave me very good pricing on the purchase of both items. Picked up a set of repro lobster and cow ramps from Jim at Pinball, Inc, who will be offering a repro back ramp later this month. Still need to get a plastic set as several are cracked but at places obscured by structure. Everyone for the most part was really helpful at Pinfest.

Oh yeah, the pics....

Since your shop job didn't include removing the ball guides, I'm assuming this is the original playfield. It looks fine to me, but it's kinda hard to tell from the pic.

I could, but I won't!

Some more pics. Under the playfield to the right of the bumpers and near the left sling coil is sap from the wood. I have never seen this before.

Thanks. I am waiting on confirmation of a reasonable retainer with a client in Moscow. If that happens, then I will get the decals on a new cabinet from Doug or Eric, do the playfield swap and then fully Ungify my AFM.

Try green post rubbers. Those for well in the machine.
