After adding LED lights to the miniature space station, I decided to add some side LED strip lights.

I used 1/2 in X 1/2 in X 96 in aluminum "L" channel cut to 41 inches long to support the white and green LED strips. The white LEDs are ON until the machine enters condition green. Then the white LEDs turn OFF and the green LEDs turn ON.

The aluminum channel pivots on a screw near the back. The front is held in place by a pair of strong rare earth magnets. The magnets are 3/8 in diameter by 1/16 in thick. Two are glued and recessed in the side boards and the other two are epoxied to the aluminum channels. By doing this, the channels can be easily raised out of the way when the play field needs to be raised.

I had replaced the two GI relay boards because parts of the connectors were cut and wires were soldered directly to the circuit board. One of the boards did not look too bad so I removed what was left of the connector. I wired the solenoid in parallel with the GI illumination relay board that switches the green lights on. I took power off of the dimmer that I used for the miniature space station. The white LEDs are connected to the normal closed contacts and the green LEDs are wired to the normal open contacts of the relay. When the solenoid for condition green is turned ON, the lights switch from the white to the green strips.

The machine still looks better than what the video or pictures show.

Looks great...

You sure know your electronics.

I just replaced my engine of the station. It was sometimes spinning to the right.
After my greenlight issue is fixed I'll start with building up my construction to power my leds in the station.
