#2 10 years ago

supposed to, not sure what version number it will be.

#3 10 years ago

Could be. Probably just bugfixes with a version number like that though.

#4 10 years ago

I would imagine it must be unless any other games are at software rev. 1.5 currently

#5 10 years ago

Two new songs added maybe

#6 10 years ago

Nothing on Stern website to download yet. Let's hope soon

#7 10 years ago

Well the said the week of the 17th of march was the release of the 2 new songs and maybe a bug fix as well........

So I put the 1.5 bin file on my usb stick, I'am just waiting to get my machine still (about a month still). Question, do you erase the new update that happen a couple weeks ago to add this new update? So correct me if Iam wrong, when I unbox and setup, the first thing before turning the machine on is putting the usb stick in to upload1.5v, with this new code 1.51v it will erase the 1.5v or just add to it? In the backbox, flip the switch to on, and install usb stick, turn machine on and select update and after that turn machine off, flip switch to off and unplug usb stick, and turn machine on. There is no reset button on the boards to push like in Star Trek, just the switch to on right? The reset button is on the new system? I watched a youtube vid and the guy demonstrated how to update code on ST and he flip switch to on, hit reset button and installed the usb stick. First time Stern machine owner and this will be my first NIB machine, so with that, I do apologize for all the questions.

You don't need to update consecutively. If you haven't updated yet, just update it with 1.51 or whatever update is available when you get your game. Don't put both files on the USB.

The updates are not incremental. When your machine arrives you will want to check for the latest code and download that onto your USB stick. If there are multiple versions on your stick you can choose which one to load.

The process on my pro is to flip dip switch 8 then press the reset button or reboot by powering off and on (the reset button is easiest). You will then select the code to load and then go for a beer or something while it updates (this will take some time).

When done you flip dip switch 8 back to it's original position and reset again to reboot into the new code.

New X-men update?!

I heard WoF.

#22 10 years ago

wrong its Tales from the Crypt.

#23 10 years ago

A WoF update would so rock. Imagine what the value of WoF's would be if that happened.

#26 10 years ago

When do you think we get this?

My guess is bug fixes and 2 New songs and that band member modes are still not there.

My guess is just the songs. Maybe a bug fix or two if it's an "easy" fix. IMO, this quick of a turn-around on bug fixes would not leave enough time to properly test. I hope I'm wrong, though.

#28 10 years ago

I'm not positive it's Metallica.
Could be Star Trek. 1.41 -> 1.51 seems reasonable if it's the Urban voice pack.

#29 10 years ago

It's here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

V1.51 - March 17, 2014
======================

- Loop diverter post NOT activated from shooter lane when a ball is being
held on the cross magnet for super jackpot.
- Added "Blackened" and "Ride The Lightning" to the list of songs that
may be selected at the beginning of the game. These were the songs that
were chosen by Metallica fans.
See http://www.metallica.com/news/20140219-605356.asp for more details.
- Implemented an adjustment to vary the music that plays during Electric
Chair / Sparky multiball. The options are:
CREEPING DEATH - Always play "Creeping Death".
RIDE THE LIGHTNING - Always play "Ride The Lightning".
ALTERNATE C.D./R.T.L. - Play "Creeping Death" for the first
multiball; play "Ride The Lightning" for
the second multiball; ...
(This is the default setting.)
ALTERNATE R.T.L./C.D. - Play "Ride The Lightning" for the first
multiball; play "Creeping Death" for the
second multiball; ...
RANDOM - Randomly choose either "Creeping Death"
or "Ride The Lightning". Both songs have
an equal chance of being chosen.
- Fixed a problem with the FUEL random award that was allowing fuel to be
added at the wrong time.
- Fixed a bug in the algorithm that selects the fake mystery awards to
display such that it no longer displays the "INVALID" award.
- Due to the lack of spinners on the PRO (bummer), the number of switch
hits required to drop to the next level for the "Fade To Black" mode has
been reduced from 20 to 15.
- Added speech for Crank It Up mode collect.
- Added magnet toss to "Battery" mode electric chair hit.
- Crank It Up modes and The End Of The Line were causing the selected song
to restart from the beginning. This has been corrected.
- Added progress bar to Crank It Up collect/continue display effect.
Formatted the time remaining with a leading (-).
- Added kickout warnings for the snake eject and the right eject. Fixed a
bug in the logic that was sending out speech for one player's score being
much lower than everyone else's.
- Added 4th sparky fry animation. Tweaked lamp effects.
- The "For Whom The Bell Tolls" mode was not resetting the song position
to the beginning when the mode was started. This has been corrected.
- Added (adjustable, may be turned off) ball saver to the modes. The
default is 10 seconds.
- Added kickout warning sounds and lamp effects for the snake eject and
the right eject.
- Battery mode was requesting adult content speech with the ADULT CONTENT
adjustment set to NO. This has been corrected.

#32 10 years ago

It's up now!

#33 10 years ago

500 - Internal server error.
There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed.

#34 10 years ago

And their server is down...getting a 500 error trying to download the code.

Back up now...downloading...

#35 10 years ago

just got through - I'll load it as soon as I get it on a stick

So that was quick and very responsive.

We got what a lot of us were asking for:

Kickout warning;

Ball Saver for CIU modes;

Fixed the adult speech with Adult Content off for Battery mode

#37 10 years ago

The master has appeased everyone with his Sparky MB options. All hail Lyman.

#38 10 years ago

Any there is the ball save that everyone thought was so controversial to add!

Grateful for this stuff, but from the READ ME file, it doesn't sound like the "song checkpoints bug" was fixed where several of the songs start over from the beginning at the start of each ball.

Bummer on no new modes. The way New songs are incorporated is kinda lame . Hoping the next update is soon with band member modes and song modes

The cool part is I'm swapping out blackened with another song

Well I have spinners in my pro so that mode should be nice any easy now!

#47 10 years ago

Do we really know band member modes are coming?

What version of pinball browser opens this?

There were supposed to be band member modes where the guys are large monsters. There are animations to support that in the code. Not sure if they got scrapped or still being worked out.

Hope they didn't get scrapped....everyone was a bit over-optimistic that they'd be added with this patch I think... I guess we can't get our cake and eat it too lol. Maybe in another 6 months we'll see the band member stuff crop up. Would suck to have that part of the code left in where you get them for hitting the picks but the only point of actually collecting them is to get the wiz mode?! = |
