I remember back in the day when my buddies and i hogged a recently shopped pinbot from 11 AM until the arcade closed at 9 PM. The machine was freshly shopped, the high scores were factory default and the machine was set to award 4 credits for 1st, 3rd for 2nd and so on and so forth. We even took turns eating lunch and dinner just to piss off the owner. To make sure the credits kept piling up, we sacrificed great games right after beating the previous first place score so we could more easily rack up credits.

Anybody else do this back in the day?

    Ok. Back to reality.

I played a T3 all night on one credit. I got GC a couple times, a replay nearly every game and then another for making the high score board. I also got some people to play with me since they could play for free.

When I left it still had a couple credits on it. And I was $40 poorer from the bar tab, and extremely drunk.

Space Shuttle for 3 hours, I could have continued, but I got bored and handed the game over to someone who looked interested. Had a lot of free games and a lot of extra balls.

Oh yes, this was a common practice for me and 'the gang' when we played Bally Star Trek in around '79, the game that got me into pinball! Ideally we'd get close to the high score and realise that the bonus would take us over it. At the point we'd drain the ball and as the bonus counted down we'd tilt the machine just after is passed the high score!! Bonus countdown was very slow on Star Trek, so it was easy to do

Played LOTR for 4 hours on 4 credits at a local bowling alley a couple of weeks ago. Had to give up my remaining credits because they were. Closing

i forgot to mention that we had some people that we didn't know ask to play the game and we took tokens from them in exchage for credits. Man, did that piss off the guy working that day.

The longest I played was 30 minutes on TSPP. I was about halfway to the wizard mode when I stopped.

I remember playing a Haunted House pin for about 3 hours off 1 quarter / token at a local arcade years ago. I put it into the game and it registered a play but gave my token back each time.......Love those games.

I used to be able to play for as long as I wanted back in the day on Earthshaker and on Swords of Fury. Swords has an easy table special, and Earthshaker will light special on the outlanes twice in addition to the credit for replay. I've ran both up to the 10 credit maximum before. A good game of Earthshaker for me was around 40M, which took about 40 minutes to get.

I remember playing a Bally Lost World at a hotel with my brother when we were kids. The thing was broken and kept giving us free games. Needless to say, we were in heaven!

Nevermind... misunderstood the post title. I don't remember much of my location playing in the 90s except that it was on a DW machine at a bar I frequented, and that I was generally very drunk.

Tokens... I only used to accept hard cash for credits I'd racked up I did put that straight in the Paragon that was next to the Star Trek though, so the op got his money in the end!

A little OT, but I have noticed that if I do the 3 games for $2 (or whatever the multi game discount is) then very often I win credit after credit and end up having to leave a couple on the pin when I leave. On the flip side if I just pay for one game at a time it never fails that I lose all 3 balls in a matter of seconds.

This was of course cheating, but back when I was in college the local arcade had a Laser Ball with a Susan B. Anthony coin slot in the center that gave 5 credits-- except that it couldn't tell the difference between an SBA and a quarter. Quite the bargain, 5 credits for $0.25!

My games generally dont last that long because Im still a flailer. Thats ok though, the world needs flailers too.
