    Lots of film/video people on Pinside it seems, very cool. I've had a crazy idea to host a streamed/broadcast pinball tournament at my studio some day - we have tons of HD monitors and a huge screening room so a camera could be mounted above every machine and fed into our switcher system and the monitors for an audience. Commentators, actual TV production values, HD shots of the playfield, live streaming online for you Pinside folks... could be cool!

    I make fun of engineers and for a side job I'm a unix admin.

    #119 11 years ago

    I guess if I review all jobs and positions I have had, it would be fair to say that I am a professional dismissee. I have been fired or forced out of every company and position I have ever had. I have never had an iota of submission in me.

    Three jobs don't fit the pattern:

    -as a paper boy in seven and eight grade (1971,1972);

    -a car salesmen (1985-1988) got into that racket after nine years in academia and learned more in the biz than universities; they offered me management, but I had had it there;

    -owner of my own company since 1994, since 1990 I have specialized in legal recruitment in Central and Eastern and have schlepped a whole lot of Slavs from firm to firm.

    I hear ya, I found out I have AVN about 18 months ago and became disabled from it. Not what I expected at age 41. I actually took a stool to MPE so I could play. Still only lasted 5 hours or so. Just hard to enjoy yourself under these kinda circumstances. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. GL too ya !

    CPA/controller/CFO (bean counter, lol) for about 20 years. Small business owner since 2001. About 20 employees full & part-time. We design/print/direct mail menus/postcards/etc. for independently-owned pizzerias, restaurants, and other entities throughout the country. A very gratifying enterprise and, like most small businesses, a lotta work!

    A big ol' high-five to all of the service men and women who have posted (and those who haven't). I'm so glad that in today's U.S., your fellow citizens have realized and recognize the sacrifice you make for all of us. Back in the '70's and 80's (pre-Desert Storm), I don't think that that gratitude and appreciation was shown the way that it is today.
