War Machine is a 2 ball, there is a way to achieve shield mystery award which will give you an add a ball.
War Machine is a 2 ball multiball.
During the first 20 seconds, the War Machine insert/kickback is lit and hitting the target each time will add a ball for up to 4 total balls. Once the insert stops blinking, add a ball is via a shield award.
The shield targets which are lit via the 4 lower rollovers and 2 upper rollovers will sometimes add a ball, depending on where it is in the award cycle and if other things are running. For example if a mode such as Bogey is running it may add time to the mode first and then the next shield award is add a ball.
Shield is awarded via the same shot at War Machine
Another way to increase the number of balls is stacking multiballs.
War Machine can stack with Whiplash but only in that order. So if War Machine is started and enough Whiplash targets are hit to start that MB, they can run concurrently.
War Machine can also stack with Monger, but only if Iron Monger is in the raised position at the time War Machine is started and enough hits are then earned on Monger.
War Machine cannot stack with both Whiplash and Monger.

I only get two balls too. I got the Whiplash two and then quickly got the Iron Monger four so it was chaos for a while. Man what a fun game.

I didn't think you could do a multiball stack of Whiplash and Monger, in either order. Perhaps I'm mistaken?
If Whiplash is started first, it does not stack with anything.
Add a ball is available as an award from completing the 6 shield inserts and collecting the shield award at the War Machine shot.
