I think the LOTR price has gone down slightly, because they have been producing the LE version up until this year. The LOTR I got this year was made in January 2011 with factory installed shaker. All I had to do was take it out of the box and it had the latest programming. I also got all the original action figures from amazon and e-bay and some additional figures such as Gimli, Baromir, Legolas, Sauron, etc.

Since the NIB LOTR LE is still readily available, the used ones have been depressed in price slightly, but not by much. Once all the NIB LOTR and SM are gone they will probably be priced fairly similarly based on like used condition.

Well, I didn't get a LOTR, but I did convince the wife to let me upgrade. I really wanted a newer DMD, so I ended up trading my High Speed (plus some $$) for a Monopoly. I know, it's no LOTR - but it is a nice family friendly DMD, and the price was right. There was also a Fish Tales which was almost $1,000 cheaper, but after playing both I thought the Monopoly would be a better fit for us.

I still haven't given up my dream of getting a LOTR. I'm thinking sometime next year I'll probably trade the Monopoly for a regular edition LOTR. ....though I will probably need to work on the wife between now and then.

....FT?! One of the bowling alley's has it, pretty fun. Maybe you need to get that one too, if the price is right!

    Quoted from Ballsofsteel:

I find this game (FT) to get old fast ... I just get tired of the same ball lock shot.

In all fairness, a lot of great games only have a single ball lock shot.

I hope so too!! It's being delivered tomorrow - I'm sitting here at work watching the clock. Countdown to beer time is T minus 2 hours.

If I had more space in the game room - you can be sure I'd fill it with pins quickly.

Congrats!! Great idea to enjoy Monopoly now and trade up later. Hope you have a super weekend. I think I hear the truck coming now.
