Hakko 808 Desolder Kit Group Buy for pinside.com

We had a nice response from the pinside community on the Hakko FX-888D group buy we offered a few months back. A lot of you were looking for the Hakko 808 Desolder Kit as well. I am pleased to announce a group buy for the Hakko 808’s.

The Hakko 808 is a handy, portable desoldering tool with a built-in vacuum pump. No separate station is required.
• thin, comfortable grip and low vibration
• simple and inexpensive pump maintenance
• adjustable temperature control (380°C - 480°C / 715°F - 895°F)
• kit includes Desolder gun with 1mm nozzle, Carrying Case, Hot Sock, filter pipe, cleaning pins for nozzle and heating element, 3 pre-filters, 4 ceramic paper filters and a wrench.

Here's the plan to get the deal:
1. Reply to this thread and let us know you want to see what all the fuss is about.
2. One of us here at B&D staff will forward the price and coupon code via PM, needed to get the deal on our website or by phone.

Can you tell me which tip is best for doing .156" pins? (A1002, A1003, A1004?) I remember replacing some molex before with a different desolderer and the hole in the tip of the desolderer was too small to fit around them. Thanks.

I believe it's A1007.

I read the Hakko 633-01 Iron Holder is handy as well. And I'm planning on getting extra filters: Hakko A1033 Ceramic Filter 10 Pack.

According to my calculations, .156" is like 3.97mm. That is pretty big. The largest nozzle available for the 808 is the A1396 which is 2.3mm wide. The A1002,3,4 are all equal to or smaller than the A1005 which is included w/ the 808KIT. The A1396 is $13.56 with your discount. If you want to order w/this nozzle either call me at 800-458-6053 or email me at [email protected] I hope this helps.

In this case the .156" refers to the distance between the pins on center, not the diameter of the individual pins, so I won't be needing a monstrous tip. I think the A1007 that OTTOgd pointed me to should do it. Thanks guys!
