I recently bought a DE star wars and have had great fun refurbing it. Seem to have caught the bug now and now need a bigger house...

The last(ish) bit to do is to get r2d2's head moving - I've had his head off and unfortunately the entire motor was missing.

I've managed to order a motor, but I'm struggling to find a part number for the disc that sits on top of it - there's a picture of one here:

http://warpzonearcade.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=4270&g2_serialNumber=2

Would anyone happen to know the part number, where I can buy one (uk pref), or the dimensions so I can get one built?

Also, the capacitor that goes into the molex connector - anyone know what that should be?

TIA
heathcote.

Don't tink I am going to be much help. I had the same problem when I got mine and I found a part at Marco that was the wrong part number but it said it would work. It did, the problem is my history doesn't go back that far and I can't tell you the part number.

This one looks like it but I can't gurantee that it is the same part I bought.

I just cut a piece of plastic to go from the cam to the bar on the R2 head.

Thats great - I googled that part number and it does indeed work for R2 - many thanks.

Did you ned to buy the capacitor too? - is it the same as the death star one?

I had the motor so I didn't need it, I was just missing the cam and the arm. I can check mine and see if it has any numbers on it but it does look eactly like the one on the death star motor.

Many thanks for that, if you could check it sometime that would be really appreciated. I've ordered the cam from marco, but it will probably be a few weeks till it gets here, so no hurry.

I just looked and yes it is the same cap as the death start. It has CM/1M/E/500V on it, the only thing I recognize is 500 Volts not sure what the other stuff is but the death start has the same thing on it.

You are a super-star! many thanks!

Do you have the manual? The part number should be in there. But, the one from Marco looks like it should work (or you should be able to make it work). Good luck!

Marcus,

I had the little arm attached to the post so I never tried to track one down. I was missing the big piece that links the two of them together and could not find one anywhere. What I wound up doing was using a little piece of plexi glass and cutting it with a dremel tool and then drilling out the two holes.

I have no idea if the head still moves like it did with the correct piece but it does move around so I figured good enough.

That wont work for the little one attached to the post I will try to do a little looking and see If I can find one any where, but you have probably already looked at the common places and if you didn't find one you may be out of luck. I'll let you know what I can find, there was a place over seas that had a few star wars parts and they may have something.

I did find this.

I have no idea if it's the part or not as there is no picture associated with it but it's called a cam with two studs so it might be it. It's the only part number in the manual that looked like it may be referencing the part your looking for. That's the only thing I could find.

Did you end up buying this motor? I need a new motor and they seem hard to come by...additionally, anyone know where to get the R2 dome 'chromed'?

Thanks
