So after talking with Cliff and finding out he had a spare set of one off brass plated protectors available for TAFG I decided what better way to keep my pristine example "pristine" than to install a full set of protectors

They arrived yesterday and was very easy to install, I do "kinda" wish the electric chair protector didn't extend as far as it does, the protectors on all the other lips are much smaller and look more uniform and I feel this one sticks out a bit,

It was hard to capture the exact color of them, they are mirror finish and clear coated if
I'm not mistaken, done by none other than Mike Chestnut himself,

There are 10 pieces in the kit, I'll upload a pic of them before the installation too that Cliff sent me,
The ramp protectors just replace the standard brushed steel ones that are already in place, they were very hard to photograph but look much better in person!

Just want to say a huge thank you to Cliff for everything hes done for me (not just these TAFG protectors) Truly a stand up guy that we in the pinball community are lucky to have!
Well without further delay! The pictures!

So all I'm wondering is why the gates & switch wire holders for the ramps aren't plated too.

Well I had no intention of modding this game, But I did want to protect the scoop holes,
Technically this "is" a mod but this is keeping the game fresh

I wouldn't have put the brass plated ones on the ramps if the kit didn't include them, They have protectors from the factory

So In short, I'm not plating anything that wouldn't have been plated from Bally/Williams

They do look very nice...I never thought about brassing protectors....look fantastic. Nice that you stumbled into them.

There was a thread a week or so back about a brassed set for LOTR,
I casually mentioned to Cliff I liked the look of that set and he said he had a very limited amount done and one of the sets he did was for TAFG,
I figured it would be something as a treat for a rare game

Ramp flaps would look sweet brassed too.

I do agree but I think that would start a slippery slope of modding this pin and I think due to its condition and uniqueness it deserves to be left alone,

I just wanted something to protect it so if I do decide to play it a little then it won't wear at its typical weak points

Looking at my switches on my ramps I want to cover them up like I see on other Bally/Williams games,

Is this the right cover does anyone know?

It is. Though they do come in at least a couple of sizes (as I recall)

Lol typical,

At least it comes with measurements, I'll pop the glass off and see,

Looks great on your machine.

I just picked up a TAFG machine today (also HUO!) and I need to get the protectors. Do you know if Cliffy plans to make anymore available?

PM or email him,

I don't know if he has any left, He mentioned to me there was only 3 sets, 2 of the other sets were sold to England and I have the other one here in the US,

But I can't see why Mike couldn't plate another set? I've been in touch with Mike myself about plating some parts to have as backup parts for this TAFG as replacements are hard to find,

Just got pack them all up and send them off to him,
