Pinball... I like it.
When I was a little kid my Dad bowled 4 nights a week.. This was in the 70's and every bowling alley had at least one machine if not 4 or 5.. Video Games, I think were just making a big break through, so Pinball was King from those days and forever for me..
Fast Foward to me as a Big Kid back in 2009, I finally have a home that has a large room ( use to be a two car garage that previous owner finished) it's 20' x 30' Just right to make my Game/entertainment room.. So I buy a Jurassic Park machine... Finally I am a pinball owner...Yes !!
Well as most of you all Know.. One isn't enough.. So I pick up a Cue Ball Wizard next , probably 4 months after my 1st.. Not a great machine, but the Best Pinball Buddy I have ever had fell in love with it and still is... My now 76 year old Dad.. So this is another machine I'll more than likely always have in my collection..
Needed a different machine a few months after CBW.. So I found a Lethal Weapon 3 on Craigslist... Looked alright in the pics.. So I drove 4 hours to get it.. Get there and the pics were mostly of the Good and None of the Bads.. But doing all that driving it made the trip back home again in Indiana...Ha
Next I wanted to explore the world of EM's and need to do something other than just Play pinball... I wanted to try my hand at touching up and clear coating the Playfield.. So I buy a Space Odyssey that was a total wreck and start out on an adventure...
I worked on and off for probably 8 months just messing around with it and learning how these giant box full of wires and switches work.. It was really a neat experience.. I like it
My current project is a Zaccaria Devil Riders machine I found at a local garage sale back in August I think it was of 2011..It wouldn't boot so it just sat in my garage till I finished the EM.. Turns out it was a Bridge Rectifier on the Power Supply board.. My 1st component removal and replacement on a PCB.. Something I have always wanted to try.. It isn't quite "Bringing a Game back from the Dead" but close.. I'll get there some day !!
Thanks for Reading, Bill in Indiana
