Noteworthy features

  • Gumball machine with real pinballs inside
  • The clock: a mechanic clock that willl rotate its arms during certain modes, rewarding the current time as points towards your score while emitting loud clock noises.
  • Mini playfield with invisible magnet flippers
  • This is the only gaming featuring the "Powerball", a white-colored ceramic pinball that is much lighter than a steel pinball. This makes it a lot faster, unpredictable and most important: not affected by the game's magnets.
  • The last game before DCS. Initially this game would get DCS sound but this was cancelled due to time constraints. Indiana Jones would become the first DCS game.
  • One of the Twilight Zone features that almost got the axe for budget cuts, was the clock, which survived in the final game.

Trivia

  • Twilight Zone, according to Pat Lawlor, had one of the highest over-cost budgets for toys in Williams history (over $200,000 for all the tooling on the toys).
  • Rod Serling's likeness had to be licensed separately from the "Twilight Zone" name.
  • Upon activation of the "Fast Lock" in Twilight Zone, a radio will tune in to audio for previous games by Pat Lawlor. Various quotes and music samples will play for games like The Addams Family, Funhouse, Whirlwind, Earthshaker, and Banzai Run.
