Save the children: The King of Payne has sent his evil falcons to kidnap all the children from the kingdom. Save the children by killing all the falcons in the time alloted before a single child is taken away. Use the flipper buttons to move the peasant right and left. Line peasant up with swopping falcons to destroy them. Video mode ends when time expires or a child is taken away.

Noteworthy features

  • Castle - A big castle with a moat in front of it and a drawbridge that actually moves up and down. The three moving towers on the castle spasm together in a loud sequence when you destroy a castle.
  • Trolls - Two trolls pop up from under the playfield insulting you and knights in general. Shoot them a few times to defeat them and send them back under the gound.. uh.. playfield

Trivia

Medieval Madness is widely considered in the pinball-playing community as one of the finest (albeit, late) efforts put forward by designers. Players feel that it blended an ideal balance of ramp vs. target shots, hard vs. easy shots, and left vs. right shots; this balance making it a satisfying blend of gamplay for both novice and expert players, alike. It has a very deep ruleset, and a highly challenging wizard mode, as well as an engaging mock save-the-princess-defeat-the-evil-wizard storyline, and funny dot matrix animations. Listening to some MM quotes that never made it into the game was a HOOT! Apparently, Lyman had some ideas for some modes that never made it into MM, as CV was next into production, so there was no time. One was..."Not tonight dear, I have third degree burns all over my body!" Apparently from getting burned by the dragon. There is a quote that *is* in the game...apparently pretty far into the game and over a certain score, where during the troll mode, if you drain a ball one of the trolls shouts..."YOU SUCK!" This was mentioned by Lyman. Most of the quotes were done by a comedy group from Second City in Canada...Greg Freres is the voice of one of the trolls. Latest upgrade: Game ROM v. L-1.09 (Home / Free Play)
