Trivia

  • Not a pinball game, in any traditional sense, Hyperball is housed in a pinball cabinet, and uses similar balls, controlled through two trigger handles. As no other definition really applies to what was supposed to be "the next revolution in games", to call the game a pinball is a passible, if poor classification.
  • Hyperball fires up to 250 3/4" balls per minute at targets located around the outer edge of the playfield. It is a flipperless game, where pace and scoring are dependent upon firing the balls to the 23 outholes and drop targets.
  • Although a large quantity of Hyperball units were manufactured, few exist in good conditon today. The games are extremely heavy, compared to comparable pinballs, and are difficult to repair. Many operators refused to pay the high cost of adhering to Williams' preventative maintenance schedules on the games, and instead allowed the games to fall into non-functional states. This also contributed to halting production of any future similar games.
  • Rare.
