Startup company Astro's first and only game, although based in Elk Grove, I'd have to imagine there was a pinball veteran or two involved? Targeted at the home market, although it does have coin slots and coin drop tracking. They seemed to have modeled it after mid-'70s Bally EMs -- a spinner lane, a saucer up top, a lane for playfield multiplying -- standard stuff for the time. The flipper gap seems larger than average. Decent enough shooter but you've played it before elsewhere, and better. Artwork (especially the cabinet) is very plain. Based on the barely remembered TV show of the same name.

Bought this game for the history of it. Built by a start up pin company Astro. Built for home use or for owner to place in bars. There slogan was make money while you sleep. Buyers found out that most locations were already under contract by other companies. In my option they copied the big guys but just did it cheaper. Game rules easy to understand spell squadron. Spinner is a little heavy no a ripper. Based roughly off the show by same name. Nice theme song on start up. Mine was supper clean with all original Astro displays and boards. Fun to try to spell Squadron but after that that’s that. Theme is dated because no one really remembers the show.

Would not want this as my only pin but cool piece of pinball history.

Bought mine in 2022 for $900

Played this at the York show and as a fan of the early Solid State era, was shocked at how bad the execution was. Randomly placed bumpers, artwork that didn't tie into the TV show at all, just a boring mess. Walked away after 1 game.
